Sister Philomena regained consciousness on the way to the hospital. She told Deputy Crow what had happened in the cabin. She said the man told her that he thought his wife was fooling around with another man. He lured him to a cave in the hills and killed him. His family hadn't reported him missing because he was a Mountain Man and often went into the hills for days while hunting. When he confronted his wife, she convinced him that she had been a faithful wife. He had told her what he had done and had to kill her, too. That is when he went totally insane and sat by her grave wailing. Sister Philomena managed to calm him down enough to tell her what happened. She told him that she would have to tell Deputy Crow about his confession. That's when he grabbed the gun to shoot her. If it hadn't been for the dogs warning us, he would have killed her. His aim was thwarted by seeing us. So the shot hit her hip instead of her heart. She has lost a lot of blood but she will recover.
Deputy please tell the nun.. her name is Sister Philomena.. that we will be praying for her recovery and that asap we will visit her in Plymouth Hospital.
The daily flowers irritated Sister Phelomena's sinuses but she never complained. During her recovery Sister Bridget took on the main duties managing the Orphanage. A demanding job ably assisted by shy sister Kathlyn, Terence, .... and the other volunteers: Shirley, Craig, Watts and Crow. Philomena will even take 3 hours of Latin a week when she's able.. The three new Orphans are treated with love and care and even God Parents, like me again, came forward. Bridget suggested I take on Simon, the second son who seems very lost. He likes Fred tho. He's very quick with Sister Kathlyn's reading n writing lessons too and downloaded plans for a snow sleigh we're building. We even made a gnarly walking stick for Sister Philomena. Simon suggested the brass handle. Strangely, a bag containing $60k cash notes appeared on the Orphage's doorstep early one frosty morning in November, with no footprints to be seen? "A donation, God bless, no receipt needed." said the card. nice. Sherrif Watts counted and notorised the money gift. Turkey for Christmas, and ham.
Sounds like a great idea Craig. Reckon I'll try some surfing and would love to see a volcano. Even their big astronomical telescopes. I think they do tours.
We'll leave the dogs here for the children to play with. We can pick them up when we get back. So we'll meet in San Francisco? Is that the plan?
Sounds good. I will make the cruise booking for.. say the 20th of this month. Royal Caribbean Cruises suit you? Then how about a seafood lunch at Fisherman's Wharf before we board the ship. I'll have crab claws for starters.
Yum man. Dont forget to pack your Hawaiian shirts. TERENCE DO YOU RECALL THE HAWAIIAN SHIRT CRAZE IN THE 80/90S? Made from poor quality rayon with your shirt wrinkling if you so much as touched it.
I'll just have a seafood plater. I'll also take one of whatever Terence is drinking. Don't forget your bathing suits.
I've been checking out places to eat at Fisherman's Wharf. There is a highly rated one called Pier Market Seafood Restaurant. Looks like it is popular. I can't decide whether to have garlic fries, New England clam chowder and crab cakes or fish and chips. Decisions! Decisions! Decisions! What drink goes well with fish?
Pier Market it is Shirley. You can have garlic fries provided you breathe away from me. This seafood platter looks delish.
Let us try Terence's favorite cocktail y'all. Pina Colada. rum, coconut milk or cream, pineapple juice.
Hey y'all we got 30% off the cruise price and here is our floating home for the next three weeks. Isn't she a beauty.
I loved the heated swimming pool. Salt water too from the ocean, micro plastics included too for free. Don't drink the pool water. Or tap or shower water. Bought you each a water filter jug for coffees etc... Pity they closed and emptied the pool. I also noticed the ship changed course slowly more to the west. I kept track with my compass, watch and times of sunset and sunrise. Weather I bet to the south. We could end up in Guam or Japan on this course. Is that on the itinerary Craig? More concerning, I'm putting on weight, better check out the gym. Too many prawns and rich food.
