Bravo! I just love happy endings, don't y'all? I wonder what new adventure we have in store? Y'all stay tuned.
I've found the story thread Craig ◉‿◉ I'll join in with a British input when a new one starts, it'll be international! (. ❛ ᴗ ❛.)
Hi, Jessica! Welcome to the story. We need some fresh blood. Do you have an idea for our next chapter?
Hi Shirley! When Craig invited me to join a new story I was thinking along the lines of setting up an international camp in a snowy mountain range, maybe looking for a hidden artifact. But I'm easy I'll go along with whatever gets decided. (. ❛ ᴗ ❛.)
Hi Jessica, Welcome. Your idea is good I reckon. Maybe somewhere in the Himalayas?? Rumours of a hidden valley...
Jessica I like that. Sort of a buried treasure theme. Something we can look at perhaps next story. http://seniorsonly.club/conversations/hiya-craig-n-shirley.4547/ This is our thread for all STORY chat Jess. Log in and you will be added to our storytellers.
Respected Sydney University Professor of Archaeology/Anthropology Richard Wentworth was preparing for his latest dig which was taking him and his team to the dense jungle of eastern Ecuador. He had conducted extensive research and strongly believed that remnants of a previously unknown pre- Incan civilization lay hidden there. Archaeological digs were no longer a simple hand tools and patience affair, with Wentworth now having access to his department's latest hi tech equipment, all of which made archaeology far less labor intensive than in the past. Laid out on his workshop desk ready for packing were a portable X-ray diffraction device, ground penetrating radar, precision global navigation satellite system (GNSS) receivers; laser scanners plus multi/hyper-spectral and thermal instruments for use from a low flying drone, which was the university's latest purchase.
I stood in the doorway, still amazed that I'd got a flight from Heathrow so quickly. 'Hello Professor I heard you needed a student so after getting permission from uni I came as quickly as I could'.......
Clattering around in the background is a tall young man stacking equipment into metal containers: digging tools, tents, ropes, machines, ... all scattered about.
And what do we call you young lady. Your being here is my doing as I am a friend and former colleague of your lecturer at Oxford University and he told me you were his best student. But dont get a swelled head as all my team have to be 100 per cent focused on the expedition. This is not a vacation. Are you a good worker miss?
The tall young man was the Professor's assistant on the dig and his former student Terry Eames who was now studying for a post graduate Fellowship. We need to have all the equipment packed tonite Terry. The Professor then called for the young English student to join them. This is Jessica Morgan from England who will be joining our team. Terry Eames miss. Have Miss Morgan help you with the packing and miss do everything he asks of you without question and be ultra careful too as there are some very expensive items on this table.
