Confiscation of IRAs and 401s has long been a goal of the Progressives. Obama talked about it, but it was never covered in the news. Just like with Trump, you had to watch the actual speeches to find out what was really said. That may well be the goal of this bill.
It's likely one of them...or at least a subordinate benefit. This defining our "needs" was raised last year when Biden was talking of expanding the IRS to monitor our $600+ transactions.
If it wasn't covered in the news how do YOU know about it? No one is confiscating anything except in your imagination; you stir yourself up and then believe it.
Let’s see. There are over 1,000,000 words in the tax code which from what I understand is more words than all of the Harry Potter books combined. I do wonder if ANY of the existing IRS agents or ANY of the new agents have read or will read and understand what they’re enforcing?
I can't speak for Don but if I only knew what I heard on CNN or read in the Washington Post, I wouldn't know anything that's true. It is quite possible to watch many things that take place in the House or the Senate on CSpan or other venues and, while the media counts on people relying on them for the significant parts (which is anything that advances the progressive agenda, minus anything that doesn't) and for interpretation, most of this stuff can be downloaded from government websites. Don actually answered your question before you asked it, by the way. Like most people, I am not going to spend all of my time reading government documents or watching speeches but when someone points something out, it's quite possible to go to the source and find out if it's true or not.
You can read original sources and get much of the same info the news channels get if you look. As I said with Trump, if you listen to the actual speeches or interviews, you often get a completely different idea. Also, especially with this administration, when Biden makes a statement, it is often contradicted by one or more of his administration. As an example, when asked about defending Taiwan recently, Biden said we would act militarily as the agreement says, but Blinken said over the weekend that we don't support an independent Taiwan at all and he emphasized the point. Who's in charge and which statement is correct? If we don't support Taiwan independence, why would we confront China over it? It seems to me that Blinken was giving China the green light to take over Taiwan and we don't mind. You can look up the individual statements on YouTube should you wish to do so, although Biden's statement may have been taken down in which case look on Rumble.
But it has been talked about it. They have been trying to figure out for a long time how to get their grubby little hands on everyone's retirement savings.
everything else has been weaponized....strong arming government agencies ....guess they'll be arming the epa too...if your start up your grill... you'll be taken down
If you remember, Obama said he wanted to create a civilian army as strong or stronger than the military. That was when every federal agency was purchasing weapons and ammunition, including the Social Security Administration. This is a continuation of that, I think. Whoever was in charge during the Obama Administration, Obama or some other unnamed power, is still in charge, I think.
Yeah, Obama's EPA was dropping into people's homes here with full combat gear from helicopters at one point if they lived anywhere near a small mining or sluicing operation. Trump stopped it all, and I haven't heard of ol' Joe reintroducing the practice since the SOTUS decided the EPA didn't have the power they thought they had. Of course, the FBI doesn't have the power to shoot people in cold blood either, but they do. I don't see THAT on those FBI tv shows.
That is absolutely ridiculous and you people here just make up stuff based on your fears and believe it. If I'm wrong, and you want to show me I'm wrong, please link to a reliable source. Otherwise, it's just your fearful opinion and nothing more.
I've always been under the impression republicans want to end social security and medicare and leave us flopping in the wind. Maybe we are both right, that actually wouldn't surprise me.
A source you deem reliable or one that the opposing party deems reliable? Linking to someone else site isn't proving anything except you have basic computer skills. My 2 years as a state investigator taught me how to make a timeline of factual events. When you learn how to piece what seems like unrelated evidence or events together, then the facts start to emerge. When undisputed videos and documents are available, then that should suffice. My answer is no, you do all the work that would disprove these "fearmongers" posts instead of asking them for links or sources you deem reliable. I do agree that some do go overboard with far-fetched theories, but I realize that their theories are just the way they see things. If one thinks about it, life and survival are a conspiracy. Anyone or group that plans out a strategy is a conspirator to make whatever it is, happen. I think it shameful and disrespectful to others here that you accuse them of just spouting their fearful opinions when they have posted lengthy and well-thought-out posts over the years that do add up to revealing some facts on current situations. While they may not be 100% correct, it is enough to establish a preponderance of the evidence and is worth considering. You give no one here of an opposing opinion any consideration, just a blunt dismissal. Your dismissals are not arguments and serve no purpose in a discussion other than to disrupt. I have never been impressed by those like yourself who post short posts requesting sources and links without any intelligent discussion from your own brain about why you disagree. Posting a few sentences void of content on the subject is not a rebuttal. Perhaps you can lay us out a timeline with approximate dates and events that will cast reasonable doubt that the Democrats did not pass a bill that would raise taxes. So far I cannot find one event that would indicate anything other than they are intentionally raising taxes to fund their agendas and further oppress the working middle-class taxpayer which is predominantly Republican or Independent. Working folks are leaving the Democratic party since now they can see the lifetime Democrat politicians have become wealthy, wealth beyond any known or reported taxable income and have created several unnecessary crises to push through their agendas.
