Can't say about complaints, I live in a `13 unit apt bldg in a very desirable street in my town and overall a small beach town that was a destination for many around the world...

The libs and covid destroyed the town, lockdowns, mandates for all the bulleheet and it's so not the city I've loved...... Crazy lib taxes and we've always paid a price for the sun and weather and now it's worse with all the libs and their crazy propositions. I have always voted no on the proposition issues..... Means they want more money from us.

Our beaches are divine and mountains are not too far off. And the desert too, not too far...So much and winter clothes.....

Like I've said numerous times, "the bigger the population gets, the more crime there will be".

We were gone from the Denver metro area for 10 1/2 years. The city grew leaps and bounds as did traffic and crime. I remember when I worked just a mile north of downtown Denver. Some crime back then (mid 2002 thru later 2007) was much lower than it is now.

We've been in Henderson, Nevada now for almost 4 months. Reading, almost on a daily basis, about cars/trucks being stolen and/or broken into in mainly housing developments. In our complex, a resident has a Entry Card/Code to have the gates opened after 6PM or have to call someone who lives in the complex to be let in. A person can wait in their vehicle until a resident, in their vehicle, opens the gate. It's not perfect Security, but it sure is better than anywhere else we've ever lived.

Both Henderson and Las Vegas are growing, like Denver, in "leaps and bounds". The amount of jobs here is a major draw. It sure can't be the traffic or crime. Have plenty of both of those and it's getting worse.

Employable folks are moving here in groves, unlike the northwestern part of the state. As we found out, the local Henderson DMV can't even handle the number of folks moving here. We have never needed an appointment for the DMV, but here a person sure does.

Well, I logged back into Nextdoor (social media), done a post asking a question about the area. There are those living here that truly believe that Henderson/Las Vegas is Utopia. "There's absolutely no place in America I'd rather live!", we were told. Then again, we were told the same thing from folks where we've lived before.

When I was logged into Nextdoor, I would read all kinds of complaints about cars being broken into, traffic, speeders, packages being stolen from house fronts and on and on. But, with all of that, nobody, but us, are moving or have plans on moving. One lady told me "all of this stuff happens everywhere" and I asked her "have you been everywhere?". She wouldn't answer.

So, instead of hearing how this area is "Utopia" and "the best place in America to live", I not only deleted my post, but logged off of Nextdoor. Two very easy things to do! Actually, I felt much better once I done both. :D

My town was lovely. If an old man got lost or a child, the police would escort them home. But as we got bigger the ratio of people to services got difficult. Obama and churches brought the poor up from cities to live here,, which would have been fine but some criminal element followed up as well. Now the police scanners can be a form of entertainment for some, they are so active. Being in the 'country' helps insulate us. Although some theft has happened.
No matter where you go, Cody, there will be issues.
Roku has the 60's tv show That Girl on lately. It shows New York City as I remember it. People dressed up to go downtown. Streets were clean and shop windows enticing. Although she is often seen near theater stage entrance, it is clean and only actor extras are there, then. I enjoy reminiscing while watching the scenery.
Criminal activity definitely happened back then but not like today. It is sad.
