That is pretty much how I am also. I read both fiction and non-fiction. When I want to learn more about something, then I find books and read about it; but when I just want to relax and be entertained, then I enjoy more like crime mystery, or historical fiction. Usually I have parts of both being read, and just go with whatever I feel like reading at the time.
Since I dislike television (always have), reading has been my go-to for entertainment for most of my life, and I can still remember being really excited when thenew edition of Roy Rogers comic book was about to hit the newsstand. (Our local greyhound station carried all kinds of comic book and magazines, and that is where my mom and I would go)
It took me a while to get used to the kindle; but now I prefer reading with my kindle over any other method. It is lightweight, has its own light (so I don’t need a lamp over my shoulder to see to read), and I can get lots of free books on Amazon.
