A question formed in my mind and I had to look this up! Hostess Cupcake Vs Ding Dongs: Differences Hostess Cupcake is an American brand of snack cake with vanilla cream filling and soft chocolate icing. Typically, it has been claimed that Hostess Cupcakes are the first commercially produced cupcakes and hence have become an iconic brand. Today, Hostess Cupcakes have a trademark of squiggly frosting across its top. Ding Dongs are round with a flat bottom and up, close to three inches wide and over an inch tall. It has an even, thin, crunchy coating of chocolate glazing over it and has a creamy white filling in the center. Ding Dong’s interior cake is drier, but it has more filling to cake ratio, straightening the dryness. Learn something new every day! And then we have Hohos of course!
Seems like none of those taste anything like when we were kids. I remember loving a thing called a "Banana Flip" that was kind of crescent-shaped sponge cake with a creamy banana-flavored filling. I haven't seen one of those in years.
Speaking of false advertising. One of my favorites is for Life Alert, where the woman says, "If it wasn't for Life Alert, I wouldn't be sitting here right now." I'm sure she's not lying. If there was no Life Alert, no one would be paying her to sit there.
I remember those. And yes all the others products were bigger and much tastier. I have not bought any thing like this in 40 -50 years. I was trying something different mainly for hubby benhefit . @Beth Gallagher
LOL! I have never felt so informed in all my born days!!!! I had no idea there actually was a difference. I'm gonna get that moisture meter I bought for firewood and verify this:
Did you know that the original Twinkie was banana flavored, but WW2 shortages caused Hostess to change it to the flavor we know today?
What's wrong with supporting my local charities? This one does good work...helps high school dropouts get their GEDs at a rate many times what the .gov place does. We also did computer classes and ESL classes. I volunteered with them for a while. Everyone liked to say that the charity and the .gov placed worked together for everyone's benefit, but the truth is the .gov did not like us very much. I suspect their hands were tied by regs & rules, and the staff was likely frustrated.
