Tuition cost is a totally different topic. The student loans were binding agreements made in good faith, cognizant of the cost of tuition. Like many of the participants here, I never had any education loans but worked my way through school with help from my parents. Had I signed a loan document I'd have paid it like I did my mortgage or any other debt I incurred.
It's not a bad thing that trained professionals from any field come to our country to work. It's a whole nuther story that low-skilled third worlders come to take jobs that Americans could do. If that sounds chauvinist I'll let it stand. I have nothing against any poor third-worlders and wish them well in life but ... but... they should remain in their own countries and maybe take down the elites who perpetuate poverty for profit there.
For the government to pay off student loans, that would be a huge disservice to those who paid their bills.
I do not believe slo joe has the authority to nullify signed contracts. It is not a national emergency or something that endangers lives. It is simply buying more votes for this same bunch of crooks and coup de tat groups like hitlary and her bunch of crooked fbi and cia chumps. If we continue to allow these people to ignore the laws of the land we're doomed as a country, we're already down to (2) sets of laws and our courts are packed with people that should be removed for their actions, most are not following our laws and writing their own as they go to fit what ever their political leader asks for. This is exactly what causes revolution and civil wars and the sad part is the people responsible will most likely all be dead already when the end game comes round.
The thing is Thomas, the contracts won’t be nullified but instead, forgiven by the lender or paid off to a lender by the government. But that’s kind of where the rubber hits the road isn’t it? WE, the taxpaying citizens of the U.S. ARE the government, which makes us the lenders in most cases. You may not be in on forgiving those loans but chances are, your representative in Washington may be which is something you have to find out and then do your own due diligence if that representative is going against the majority of his or her constituents. The politicians are all looking for that young vote which is what this loan forgiveness thing is all about. Virtue signaling that it’s because they want to lighten the load is a load of bull. It’s all about votes.
Re writing legal contracts is not going to get a free pass for a politician. I would bet you cha a nice cup of coffee should it be attempted it will be shut down from the high court. You have a case of attempted theft of every tax paying citizen in America. Force citizens to pay for someone's college and see how fast this goes down. There are a lot more taxpayers than unemployed home economics majors who want a free ride. Everyone has been conditioned to think these slugs in DC are kings and queens, but with all the recent stealing our tax dollars to pay for illegals to fly all over the country after hours and issue everything that we citizens have to pay for to an illegal is going to destroy this liberal party and it will never ever be able to steal such a large amount again. If they aren't stopped then I suppose they could say you have to pay for your neighbor kid's college. In the end about 200 million taxpayers should refuse to pay their taxes, and if they are targeted then let the games begin. At some point people will have to stand together and stop all the madness. They want all of us in a soup line and a tent. I say them first ! How is it that so many people are so dumb to vote for a straight up communist like that bunch in the democratic party. You would think with fuel and food so expensive they might have a brain reset but I guess not.
They are willing to accept the party line that it is "Putin's War" causing inflation. Don't confuse them with the truth.
I'm a bit troubled about paying off student debt, I wonder how many retired couples are counting the pennies because they spent six figured amounts to get the kids through college. As I've posted elsewhere, I got my undergraduate degree at my state university without paying a dollar in tuition. I suspect many of my friends here did also. About that: I wonder about many of the physicians on the news talking about our plague have foreign names and accents in their English. I get my health care from the medicle college at the local state university. I wonder why many of the professors, not the adjuncts, have foreign names and accents in their English? Could it be because it costs between two and three hundred thousand to get through med school? (According to one of my former students.) People also ask What percentage of doctors are foreign born? About one in five pharmacists, one in four dentists, and 29 percent of physicians—approaching one in three—were foreign-born. Among one of the biggest occupational groups—psychiatric, nursing and home health aides—23 percent were foreign-born. Nearly 1 in 3 US physicians were born abroad medicalxpress.com/news/2018-12-physicians-born.html
