I think it's just awful that a general would be involved in a war! What happened? Didn't he have any flowers?

They were only traitors because they lost.

That's true enough. Had the Confederates won the war, they would have written history quite differently.

All this history sweeping is being stirred by no other than democrats, they won't be happy until they are totally stripped from any past. What I saw while all the statues were being vandalized were no more than a bunch of street thugs with no life. They will all die as old street thugs still with no life, but more important with no history to share. History is the greatest tool to learn from the very beginnings of man. This is what happens when we're out numbered by fools and criminals.

It seems to me that what they are doing is trying to do is create true equality and to make America a place where all races feel welcome. I imagine that it has been difficult for African-Americans to feel equal if they are constantly reminded that SOME Americans still hate them simply because of the color of their skin. Yes, there are small, but vocal groups known as Neo-Nazis who hate not only Jews but all people who are non-white. I don't know how many people who are in sympathy with Neo-Nazis but I imaging that for every Neo-Nazi, I'll bet there are hundred and hundreds who agree with them. Heck, to this very day there are people who deny the the Holcaust never happened.

It is perhaps not the best of analogies , but imagine a world where Jews see statues of infamous Nazis. Or, worse yet, serve on a military base named Ft Himmler, or Ft Eichmann.

The same thing applies to the Confederate flag, which celebrates the institution of human slavery.

I’ll write this again with one edit:
I know of NO ONE, whether white, black, red, yellow or polka dotted who served at Ft. Bragg who isn’t proud to have trained and been stationed at that same fort.

We didn’t go to Ft. Bragg to be welcomed there, that’s what Fayetteville and it’s bars and cheap hookers were for.
We went to Ft. Bragg to serve as 82nd Airborne Paratroopers as a very dangerous cohesive unit and to believe that the name Bragg could possibly divide us because of some imagined idiocy regarding slavery is just pure horse crap.
We weren’t trained to worry about what happened in the 1860’s. We were trained to jump from the sky so we could wreck things and kill people.

“Oh my goodness, I just can’t jump from this C-130 because Gen. Bragg had slaves and that thought just makes me feel so unwelcomed and used”.

    In short…….BS.

By the bye…..Fort Liberty sounds like some wooden fort out of a John Wayne old west cavalry movie. Should be an affront to Native Americans.

Ya might know. I took basic at Ft. Polk. Co C-4-2.
He was also involved in the Mexican American War.

I think what the real problem the politicians are having doesn’t have anything to do with the Civil War. It has more to do with offending illegals from Mexico.

Edit”. Funny thing about changing the name of Ft. Polk. The neighboring town is called….Leesville.
If anyone is offended by Confederate names, ya can’t prove it by the high percentage of black folks living there.

The Story of Babel in our Bible is a good place to start learning about this equality BS. At that time it was one human language with which it was easy for Satan to spread evil amongst everyone. It sounds to me like this equality BS is much like that. Just look at how many people of the world now speak English ??? Evil people want to control as many people as possible just as they have been doing since we all arrived. Most of us are still individuals and we don't care much for being tagged as Equals. In today's world you need to be Normal to survive because we are surrounded by evil and stupid people trying to spread their stupidity and are having great success with a lot of young people who are probably the dumbest ever conceived. Not their fault no doubt, but never the less true. In all of this the point of having history was to learn and improve, not tear down monuments of people who were great people of their time.

Love them or hate them they created the world we all live in. Not once have I ever looked up at one and even thought about owning slaves or hating people. My most revered statue is of Sam Houston who represents the birth of the state of Texas and he stands at the entrance to memorial park. His old home is nearby. I guess it won't be long before these illegals start crying and they will attack him. Mark my word one day will come and all these statues that were removed will be once again standing where they once stood. It showed how poor our leaders are today when they allowed the gangs and thugs to destroy these Historical Markers. Many years ago I thought to myself that all our leaders are the very same people that helped get a lot of us young soldiers and airmen to die. All those morons grew up and became old morons, today we still have many in our government. They have never been good at anything other than complaining and dragging their knuckles.

A/1/2 across the street from the Kasachi Theater... spelling probably wrong but it was named after a place or event in WWII.

I'm in agreement as well because we were all Americans, and we still are.

I hope folks keep calling it Fort Bragg, I know I will, and any other history-replacement by anyone in this country. The truth will prevail as long as there is still someone alive that remembers and passes it on to their kids.

amen! Most of those soldiers I'd be willing to bet, were not even sure why they were fighting and dying. No different than today, they were probably lied to back then as well. How many of them even had slaves, and belonged to KKK? Most were probably farm kids same as today.

Except for the liberal news media and the sheep that follow what they are told by the liberal media, most patriotic Americans will still continue to honor the historic names of our military forts, regardless of the name that the news broadcasters want to call them. I believe that all of the military and the military families will certainly honor and use the historical names .
Denying history and trying to cover it up is never a good thing, and I think that we have been told a lot of lies about what happened in the history of this country, and of the whole world.
