I didn't exercise as a program, rather just went about my normal life.. today it is almost impossible for me to exercise because of my 2 hip replacements, although I have been cross country skiing last year.. I won't try that again ........
Well, NO ..... not really.. It took about 4 months of physiotherapy (for each hip) and then just taking it easy but continuing on with life.. t Today I have absolutely NO problem doing almost anything I want, such as walking for about 45 minutes, walking up stairs, lifting heavy objects, cross-country skiing, or doing extensive gardening.. What I won't do is bunjie jumping, downhill skiing, playing soccer, playing football, wrestling, or anything like that.... Not that at my age I would want to do those things anyway.. The most wonderful thing is ................. NO PAIN AT ALL IN BOTH HIPS ............
@Steve North I know people who have had hip ,and / or knee replacements and back dancing ,It's a good thing to keep us mature people on the move ,and OUT OF nursing homes .. Another thing that changes life for allot of us is cataract surgery ..I had to have both eyes done ..I now have 20/20 vision only wear glasses for reading ,prior to having the surgery it was like having tissue paper over my eyes
Unfortunately, I regretted to inform you that I have also had a shoulder replacement.. My left shoulder was all deteriorated and there was NO option other than replace it... I feel perfectly fine and can lift a propane tank (about 40 pounds) with my left arm.. That's how well it is doing.... Actually my left arm and shoulder is better than my good one, my right.....
Never mind tall buildings, can I leap at all??? The reason I have had 2 hips and a shoulder replacement is because when I was younger, I played semi-pro hockey in Quebec City.. I played left wing and was an extremely aggressive player.. Yes I got many penalties but I also scored many goals.. In those days the only protection was shin pads (that were bulky and useless), gloves, and an athletic support.. That's all.. Helmets, shoulder pads, hip pads, and any other protection were not invented.. When I hit someone or was hit along the boards, you felt it.. My hips got banged up badly as was my left shoulder.. Today I am paying the price for the past..
well at least you had fun and seemed to have enjoyed the sport albeit in the end it cost you.. but you had your surgeries and have recovered quite well it sounds like..
Oh Yea.. fore sure.. I think I am one of the lucky ones that really am not affected at all from my replacements.. Months and months of physiotherapy twice a week made the difference.. I MUST NOT get the implants cold when I go out in the extreme cold weather.. If you want to know what severe pain is, just get the metal in your body cold and you will find out... I dress accordingly and if it is crazy cold, I don't go out... Anything below the -30c mark, I must be careful, although I went out for a short walk a few weeks ago when it was -42c but not for long and I dressed accordingly.......
yes. I noticed that too. she was not here yesterday I don't think, but maybe she will show up tonight yet..
Gone on a walkabout ???? gone fishing ??? Gone shopping ??? gone to sleep ??? Gone to church ??? Or......... Gone ...... gone ..... gone ............... Who knows ?????........ Me thinks that somewhere, sometime, someplace, somehow, ....... Shirley will show up ....
