Our heat spell seems to be over for now.. Boy was it ever hot for a few days.. Temperatures went up to 35c and that is really unusual for up here..
They are forecasting a long, hot, dry summer for our region..
Right now, it is around the 20c mark during the day and the nights are beautiful at around the 8c mark..
    More hot weather to come....

It cooled off today and I took advantage of it to mow the grass.. We have acreage and it took me some time to do the job completely.. Enjoyed the rider mower and tractor doing gardening..
No rain (which we need badly) till next week..

Been doing some badly needed work around the outside land..
The weather has been co-operating very nicely lately with daytime temperatures around 20c and cool nights around 6c.. Excellent for sleeping with the window open and a warm comforter on the bed..
    Black flies are gone....
Mosquitos are rather scarce because of the cool nights,
But those pesty Deer flies can take quite a bite out of you..

    Louise..
They were not all that bad this year because we had some very cold days and frost at night that killed most of them off, besides we had some rather windy days as well which was also good..
Mosquitos are much the same this year.. Cold nights must of killed most of them off and dry weather go9t rid of stagnant waters..
HOWEVER, did you ever have trouble with Deer flies also known as Horse flies ????
Again, if you want to lose weight fast, let those buggers eat you up alive.. OYE VAY is right !!!

Yup... Tell me about them.. They not only bite, but the bite stings and itches for days after..
There isn't a fly repellant for those buggers..

We have been visited by some wild animals in the past 2 days..

2 black bears were in our driveway and looking for food..
A deer was wandering in our back yard area just wandering and not running away when it saw me..
A Bob Cat was in front of our house last night.. They are huge as a cat with a stubby tail..
Foxes are always wandering around our area most likely looking for rabbits..

Sometimes I feel like I live in a zoo .............
Racoons are very common around here as well..
Coyotes are very often seen around here as well..
Grey wolves are here as well..
Not very many skunks at all for some reason..
Porcupines are making a comeback around here.. for years they were gone, but they are back..
Rabbits galore.. Rabbits or hares, I don't know the difference when I see them..

When I say I live in the real country, I am not kidding....
