I have my computer back but it's still not fixed. I can't tell it's any faster than it was before. His bill is $117.17. Should I pay it?
I wouldn't unless he pushes you to pay it ..you have a right to check if it's fixed @Shirley Martin Where I live it's known as little Cornwall ,because of the history of miners coming here to work the copper mines ,which ceased over 100 years ago .. We have a huge 10 day Cornish festival every other year ,people come from cornwall and all over the world for it The remains of the mining sites are very close to beng added to the world heritage list ..I volunteer in the huge museum dedicated to the miners and families.
I used to volunteer when we first moved to Massey about 10 years ago.. I tried several different organisations such as the Museum, Street Painting Festival, Agricultural Fair and I left all of them because all they ever did every meeting was fight among themselves... The local theatre group was terrific.. We did several plays on stage including several dinner theaters.. I loved it, but now the older directors can't do it anymore and the younger members don't want it, so it dissolved.. I joined the City Council in the Parks and Recreation committee for 4 years and I loved it, however after the last elections, I am no longer wanted.. It isn't very often one can say they got fired from being a volunteer........................
I to hate politics Steve ...When I volunteer I work alone and don't get involved in meetings Mind you dancing is full of politics but we both steer well clear of that
Parks and Recreation was fun.. --I organised a "Hayride Picnic" for the town and it went on lovely with lots of folks coming out.. --I organized an "Ice and Snow Sculpture" event during our winter carnival where folks would make a snow sculpture on their front lawn and it was judged with prizes.. --I got an old park in town rejuvenated with more items, renamed it and had the mayor and citizens come out for the ribbon cutting.. The park is used daily by many kids who just love it.. --I got the local boat launch in town modernised with loads of parking and road signs indicating the launch.. I really enjoyed the 4 years I was on the Council, but now, Its all over for me...
Wow Steve, ,,who knew?? your a great organizer that's for sure, they lost a good person when they let you go.. Shirley, I cannot believe the guy never fixed the problem your having, I would say "nada " to his bill,.. Try another town or another computer guy to let you know if that one is worth fixing or not...
I agree with Louise @Steve North ,I see your resignation as a "great loss " to your community..Never mind we are proud to have you as our friend .
We are off to Adelaide for the weekend ,in the morning ......it's our 30th wedding anniversary,Monday going to dance Saturday night ,having lunch out with friends on Monday ..so I won't be around much over the weekend ( it's 8.30 am Friday morning now) We celebrate the fact we are still together after years of up and downs of both being previously married ,both having children ..interfering ex spouse..to deal with ( not on my side, my ex passed soon after I remarried ,he had heart issues )
Congratulations Kate, have a great time.. despite the ups and downs , 30 years sounds pretty solid to me. It will be 36yrs for us in Nov... I think, I have to check.
WOW !!! What a wonderful life and something great to celebrate.. for us it is also our second marriage and so far, we are still doing just great.. We got married on July 1st., 1997 and we haven't had a fight,........ ever.... After getting married in Montreal, we immediately moved away up to Northern Ontario to be away from any past problems with exes, kids and parents.. Best decision we ever made....
I'm going to post some pictures of my family that were taken on our trip. I'm only going to leave them for a while then delete them. Y'all better look quick! This is my nephew and me at Alki Beach in Seattle. This is my niece, her nephew, her son and me at Alki Beach, on the pier, with Seattle in the background.

Hi Everyone We have the worst rain/cyclonic wind storm ever recorded in SA going through right now ,so I wil be here when it's blown itself out ( forecast to last for another 2 days) We haven't had any power since yesterday ..from the little information I've heard lightening struck one of the main transmitters ,and the strong winds have blown over those a few of the huge power line towers
Wow, I am sorry. I have my own kind of storming going on. It isn't constant but we will be having heavy rain off and on for the next few days. It is just enough to be annoying. I think that if nothing bad happens like loss of power we will be lucky. I really don't like it, because when the rain is too heavy it knocks out my internet, and since I am online a good bit of the time it reeks havoc with my money earning and socializing. I hope that your situation improves, it is scary to be in the middle of a storm. I hope you get your power back!
