Yikes !!!!! did I get it or what ?? Did you know that a Bear walks in the forest bare feet ??? And that is the Bare facts !!! Please bare with me while I go out to get the bear... OK......... Enough as I must go to sleep.. it is late up here and we are getting up early tomorrow..
As opposed to getting up late? guess we can bear with you for a while,. but do be careful when you two get up to go out to look for that bear on standing on his hind feet in the woods...
Good to see a bit of humour, first thing in the morning I've seen a brown bear ( in a zoo) I didn't realise they are soooo big ...Seen polar bears for first time last year in sea world in Queesland boy are they huge I wouldn't like to meet one of them face to face ... I seen elsewhere on a forum about eating brown bear .. were they joking or do you actually eat it ? I'm being serious now !!
Yes , people do eat bear meat. I never have ,but people do eat bear meat.... most any game meat Is eaten, we eat deer meat (Venison) ... but only the ground meat for hamburgers and I like to make a mean dirty rice Jambalaya with it too....!
I made some bear meat just last week.. I made it in the slow cooker.. It came out delicious as usual.. Juicy, tender, and tasty.. I put veggies in with it in the slow cooker.. We eat Bear, Moose, Deer, Beaver, Sturgeon, and almost any wild animal that is edible..
Interesting thank you, Aussies eat kangaroo , emu ,crocodile rabbits ...but I've only ever eaten rabbit We stick to lamb, beef, chicken and fish .
Kate, here is the kind of lizards we have around here ,, they are harmless. I have eaten Deer(venison) and tried moose, (don't care for it) and squirrel, Rabbit and pheasant. And if cooked right , none of the wild game tastes wild.. Steve, I bet your bear stew was delicious. and don't you just love those slow cookers? what a great invention.! I also use a pressure cooker .. those are real handy too.. We do catch catfish and Bass here in Tenn River .. and they are good eating.. And I never caught a fish this big , yet anyway.lol. only in my dreams.
Where I live up in Northern Ontario, it is one of the best MUSKY fishing areas in North America.. I have gone Musky fishing countless times and caught them around the 50 inch mark.. Now, that is a big fish and would you believe I keep them and they are simply delicious eating.. I fish in the North Channel of Lake Huron...
Steve, I still haven't cooked the bear ham that someone gave my son. He put it in the freezer. Do you soak or marinate bear meat before you cook it?
NO .......... Usually I put the bear meat in the slow cooker if it is a hunk of meat.. I add some stock and that's all.. Herbs and spices of course.. If it is minced, I either make a meatloaf, or I mix it with other mince and make burgers on the BBQ.. I was NEVER given bear meat with a bone..
