We just finished a bruiser of a snow storm that lasted 2 days without letting up.. A total of just over 50cms of snow fell in the 2 days of the storm.. There were gusts of wind of 60kms to make it a bit worse.. Schools were closed.. The Trans Canada highway was closed.. Most businesses were closed, and even the snow plows were not going out till the storm was over.. Now that the storm is over, we now have temperatures around the -28c mark with wind chills of around the -36c mark.. One can easily say that March came in like a LION ....
Steve that same storm ripped though the united states too, some tornados and 3 deaths.. of course we did not get the snow but buckets of rain and the wind just howled. was scary at time.. I saw where it moved up the east coast and up your way too,,
Well, the storm is all over now and the temperatures have dropped down a bit.. It will go down to -27c tonight with a wind chill of -35c.... We had about 30cms (12 inches) of snow but the worst thing was the wind which blew the snow all over the place causing some drifts up to 4 feet high.. I had my driveway cleaned today as usual and there is NO problem my getting out.. Actually I was out today and the roads are bare and dry..
Ladies, we have a cake called a Mississippi mud cake. It is delicious. Lots of chocolate and other yummies. It's so good it's a sin not to eat it. But when we have it, I only allow myself to eat just a morsel of it. You believe that? Steve, my BIL says that the Canadians do an excellent job of keeping the roads cleared. It is beyond my comprehension how they do it. But then, I can't imagine 4 foot high snow drifts, either.
Shirley , i've heard of that cake but never tried it,,one slice of that and I would be on the pot the rest of the night, !! Steve , it sounds like you had a lot of that light-weight snow falling, I use to hate it when we had that heavy wet snow . OMC ,that was a real back breaker to shovel !... but yet it was good to make a good sized snowman with tho..lol..
The snow wasn't all that heavy but it doesn't matter as I don't shovel anyway.. My driveway would be impossible to shovel as it is too long and wide.. 60 feet long X 15 feet wide is our driveway.. it has now turned a bit nippy with nighttime temperatures down to the -40c range.. Excellent for us up here as it will freeze the lakes thicker for a longer ice fishing season which in turn means more $$$ for our village.. With the snow storm, we now are having snowmobiles in our village which again is big buck$$$$$..
The game we play here .. "Things you find at a flea Market". Well we went to our local outdoor Flea Market this morning as it is only open on Saturdays and sundays weather permitting.. and I brought my camera to show you some of the stuff and junk that is sold here.. lol.. Ok , I had more pic but would only let me upload these 10 Picture. but you get the idea , a lot of old junk.. lol.... its fun tho to pass time away looking at lot of the stuff they have every week-end.. is a nice day today too, in the 60's.. Hope you all are having a nice day too,
Haha Steve , I loved the Drum-set in the back of the guys car and the artificial leg sticking out of the box.!! cracked me up ! , you never know what your going to see when you go to a Flea Market.. lol..
Junk is junk however there could be sometimes something of value that they don't realize.. You have to know what is good and what is junk...
Thanks Steve, I enjoyed that. Baby its cold outside, cute kids too.. and guess what we are predicted for Saturday's weather? 1 to 2"'s of sleet or snow.!! and our 2 young peach trees have blooms on them too, oh, I sure hope they are wrong about this prediction..
