Thanks Holly but I don't have any burnt food stuck to the bottom..
What I have is a scarred bottom that is golden from all the cooking I do in the pot.. Nothing wrong with the pot except it looks a bit ugly because of the golden bottom..

No reason why you can't use Vim ...but you'd have to rinse very well afterwards..

    Gotta go....

Was wondering if someone has a suggestion that would be safer for the pot..
Vim could do it but it isn't recommended for use on utensils that consume food....

Did you try what that company ( Lagostina brand ) suggested? you may not have seen what I had posted on the prior page, Steve..

It said to just " Pour a little vinegar or Lemon juice into the sauce pan or pot and wipe clean with a paper towel or damp washcloth." that is suppose to take way the darkening of the pots bottom inside.. you can leave it sit for a while too if its really bad. and if its on the outside , I would imagine you would do the same thing, its certainly not going to hurt the pot in any way.. just rinse it good after the treatment ..

I tried Old Dutch with bleach, let it sit for a while, scrub with a dishes sponge and it finally came off..
ALL OF IT CAME OFF ............ and now the inside of the pot looks just like new....

It just got yellow golden because I use that pot very often and eventually the bottom got golden brown..

NOW.... I have some copper pots that have turned very dark..
What do you recommend to clean copper pots ????

I will be gone for 2 days..
Leaving on Tuesday May 30th (my Birthday) for Sault Ste. Marie to see our orthopedic specialist..
For Annmarie, it is for her foot as well as the yearly check-up for her knee replacement which is 100% perfect..
For me, it is the final X-rays and a consultation with the last instructions before surgery..
We will be back on Wednesday but very late..
