WE HAVE A SLIGHT PROBLEM... April 8th up here is still WINTER.... Everyone please bring: Warm waterproof winter boots rated at least for -40c Warm wool socks Pants that are for winter and preferably lined Long underwear preferably thermal Warm tops like fleece lined Wool hats, scarves and thermal gloves A warm winter jacket or coat preferably down filled The lakes will still be frozen solid The ground will still have snow up to your knees There is always a bruiser of a snow storm around the first week of April.. could see up to 2 feet of snow.. The daytime temperature should be around the -6c to -10c mark and the night drops down to around the -15c to -18c mark Driving is imperative to have 4 aggressive snow tires After being outside for some time, a bowl of hot soup will be greatly appreciated THIS IS THE LIFE !!!!!!!!!!!!! Everyone is still WELCOME !!!
Just one more thing..... DON'T BRING A FUR COAT AS IT IS SPRING BEAR HUNTING SEASON.. Going for a walk where we live in the wooded country could lead to a hunter thinking you are a bear....
Gosh , Steve, looks like I will have to call my visit off.. something came up and so I will not be able to make that trip after all! I'm sure Joyce and Shirley are still gun-ho as to going for the visit to meet up with you and your Princess.... Hope you all have a wonderful time..
C'mon Louise... It isn't all that bad... After all, I live up here as well as hundreds of thousands of other folks and we all survive and live long , healthy lives.. I was so looking forward to making a Black Bear roast in the oven for you.. I'm sure you have never eaten that and would like it... How about a lovely BBQ using some Moose steaks.. I also have some Beaver in the freezer I can make in the slow cooker.. I'm positive the other girls will enjoy my cooking...... some good wild meat...
I found the perfect outfit for Louise and me to wear. If Sis-Joyce wants one, I'll make her one, too. Or anybody else.
Thanks anyway Sis...think I'll have to back out of this trip. The total eclipse in 2024 will also go through Pennsylvania, so I think I'll stay home..... but MORE important, in seven more years at my then age of almost 90, I I will need a warmer climate
Oh! Oh! Oh! Goody! We don't have to go to the icy cold at Steve's house! We can all meet at Sis's house! I know she will be happy to see us and won't mind all the extra cooking and dish washing!
Joyce,, in those outfits age doesn't matter !!! No one will see the rest of our bodies. we will just be 3 talking heads!! all nice and warm eating Steve's BBQed Moose steaks and Black Bear roast.. I'm drooling already.. now get packing ladies..!
The only thing I can do for you is feed you some of my special healthy foods and I can give you some very friendly hospitality.. Give you a taste of the "up north" way of life.. Kill all of you with kindness.. Not to say, have the greatest time you have ever had... Put up with my craziness !!!
Hi all its Kate ..do you all remember me I've just got back from being away in a warmer part of Australia for a whole month ..I can't say I really had a ball while away .,because I caught the worst flu Australia has ever had ..and almost 5 weeks latter I'm still coughing ..yep,I had my flu jab in may but this one is something new that wasn't included in the jab
