Marie, I started reading a book called "Angels in my Hair" by Lorna Byrne, an Irish mystic, who has seen and talked to angels all of her life. She says they are all around us especially our guardian angels. The book has me now talking to my guardian angel. Who knows? He or she might be listening.
I talk with mine a lot, too, @John Houlihan , and I am pretty sure that God is listening; but I think that sometimes I do not do a very good job of listening to what God is telling me I should do. I will always remember one of the times that I was sure God was listening. The kids were on their ponies, and I was riding my Arabian stallion and we were riding down one of the country roads in our area. Suddenly 4-5 horses that had gotten loose from somewhere came galloping down a driveway just as we rode past, and started to charge right into the middle of my kids ponies. Naturally, Raffix, being a stallion, was totally going berserk and bellaring, with those horses crashing into him; so I was having a terrible time trying to keep him under control, and was really scared that one of my kids would get knocked off their horse and get trampled, but there was nothing I could do to stop the situation. I just hollered (maybe in my mind and maybe aloud, I do not really know), “God, I need my Guardian Angels RIGHT NOW ! ! “ As fast as I said that , those other horses spun around in the road, and ran back up the driveway where they had come from, and they didn’t come back out. I was just amazed, and almost crying as I was thanking God for the rescue. Those angels were there instantly when I asked for help. The kids and I took a different route coming home, in case those horses were still running loose somewhere.
John, I don't expect anyone to believe me, but I know for an absolute fact that the mind doesn't need the body nor vice versa. I have had a couple out of body experience's back in the 70s. Hubby and my cousin witnessed these paranormal happenings. I heard me son call me from 400 miles away and I had out of body to save a cat of all things. [ No I never did drugs after seeing a Georgia State college student scream himself to death on LSD when I was 15 in er with my hurt arm. Traumatic doesn't come close to that, it was horrible, he didn't sound human. Plus I was having babies in the late 60s early 70s.]
Wow, Yvonne! What a great experience! You were so lucky to have your prayer answered. To those who believe in God, no explanation is necessary. To those who don't, no explanation is possible.
Marie, I believe you. Thanks for sharing. I've been searching for the truth all my life. I have studied the philosophies and sciences of the West and the East. What I have learned is that out-of-body experiences, near-death experiences, reincarnation, etc are probably true. One of the most extensive investigations I have read is the 30-years of after-life research by Dr. Michael Newton. His work deals with past-life regressions, life-between-life activities, soul contracts, etc.
John sometimes you just have to accept it and not wonder, I guess. One of the visions I had was with out cat. I'll tell you about it soon as my eyes are working better,its hard to get into a lot of typing. I'm not good at typing never learned, plus vision is bad since stroke. Sometimes it is better than others. Do you like history?
Marie, the first video was on Murrow attacking McCarthy. This video had no closed captions. Because I am very hard of hearing, I could not understand what Murrow was saying. On the other hand, the second video where McCarthy attacks Murrow did have closed captions, so I could understand what McCarthy was saying. Thanks for posting this video because I had not heard many of the things McCarthy was saying about communist corruption in our government. It was very disturbing. However, McCarthy was a controversial politician, so much of what he says needs to be vetted. Bottom line: Because I heard only one side of the argument from a politician rather than a historian, I am a currently agnostic on this issue. To get the other side of the story, I would need to read what historians have to say about McCarthy.
John I do understand as certain times I have the same kind of problem with my vision. I don't need to get into that kind of thing too deep anyway, after all what can any of us do about it. I studied Maccarthy and communism over the years; it is a controversial subject.
I saw this and thought it was funny; and to me, it kind of fits here from old to older. Even if some of us are even older.
