Oprah showed up and bought pillows, blankets and diapers at COSTCO and Walmart and delivered them to a stadium housing refugees. Then a couple of days later she showed up with tv cameras to film herself parading among the people, deeply offending the natives in the process.

She apparently owns 2,000 acres on Maui, several houses, and an airplane hangar. People want to know why Oprah has not set up temporary housing for these folks on her properties.

Facts are coming out about how a state water resource management official (a Native Hawaiian cultural practitioner) delayed requests to release more water to fight the fires. The governor said conflicts over water are being "reshaped" in an age of climate change and wildfires. The conflict has long included opponents who do not want water to be used to fight fires, the governor said. Water resources are scarce on the island and have been the source on conflict for many years, including fights over the release of quantities sufficient to fight fires.

As another piece of the backstory: there was a substitute host on a radio show Monday who used to live on Maui. He said a major issue in the fire was the spread of an invasive species of grass, which apparently goes up in a fire like sagebrush.

Here's a comment from another site. I hate to pass on 3rd hand information, but it seems that media access (local and otherwise) has been restricted, so all we have are official statements and Tritter reposts.

There is going to be much more coming from this story of the Maui fires. I don't subscribe to TwitteX, but do follow Twitchy, a site the covers the highlights & lowlights on X. They just had a story about West Maui being a "media-free zone" that is filled with posts of suspicious events surrounding the fires.

There was no context as provided on Twitchy regarding the water controversy, so thank you Mr. Lifson. There are videos of people claiming the water "was shut off." You got the impression it was deliberately shut off just before the fires began. This, of course, leads to conspiracy theories. But there are other things being alleged that need investigation. Among them:
+School was cancelled so some children were alone while parents were at work and perished.
+The escape route was blocked by police, not allowing people in cars out of the area (eyewitness account).
+Hawaii officials were off the island when the fire occurred.
+Alarms were not sounded and the phone alert system was not activated.
+Insurance companies are invoking zoning infractions on the land, denying insurance claims. A law was recently passed saying no new building permits could be issued unless a serious natural disaster occurred. Now corporate developers are offering money to those whose insurance claims are denied for their homes.
+Will Cain (Fox News) was initially turned away due to "West Maui being a media-free zone." He finally got in because he owns property there.
+Residents believe relief supplies are being deliberately blocked, except for those provided by the Red Cross.

Altogether, it sounds like a land grab is afoot. Conspiracy theories will grow as to whether this "natural disaster" was truly "natural." Given that many "conspiracy theories" of late have turned out to be true, there are grounds for suspicion.

Here's a 5 minute Bitchute video on that subject and on the police chief suggesting that those who he's arrested get "doxxed", meaning someone should make their private information (phone, address, employer) public, supposedly for retribution. Maui's police chief was the Las Vegas police chief and "incident commander" in 2017 when there was that rooftop sniper incident that some feel we've still not heard the truth about.

Police have arrested a suspect in the Maui fire (and, no, it's not Mother Nature or any of her climate minions.) He has a string of convictions for burglary and property crimes going back to 2018. He has not been charged, and is in custody being held on unrelated warrants.

I don't know about AI but there certainly looks like a set up for a land grab of highly valued property.

Well Dr. Mercola is here with his Summation and all the history and weaponry.

Well, here he is, and I believe MOST of what Dr. Mercola puts out there, not junk, not lies and here he goes into the people of Hawaii, the land and the weather and so much more....

    STORY AT-A-GLANCE
August 8, 2023, wildfires broke out in the western part of Maui, burning down an estimated 2,000 acres, including the historical port town of Lahaina, where most of the buildings were destroyed, including many of the homes of its 13,000 residents, many of whom are indigenous and have lived there for generations

The fire was fueled by hurricane-strength winds of 60 to 90 mph from Hurricane Dora, which passed some 500 miles south of Hawaii
Four years ago, Clay Trauernicht, an environmental management expert, warned that allowing nonnative, highly flammable grassland savannas take over native ecosystems was worsening the risk of devastating wildfires

As Hurricane Dora was approaching, local news predicted the risk of fire would be high due to downed powerlines, dry brush and low humidity. Maui residents are now suing the power company for keeping “powerlines energized during forecasted high fire danger conditions”

Some people, including Maui residents, suspect a directed energy weapon was used to set Lahaina ablaze to facilitate a land grab. Residents have long resisted offers to sell their land, and private land developers are already making offers to purchase their scorched properties.

I'm listening to Edward Dowd and RFK JR discussion....Dowd is a resident of the Islands (Maui).

I watched a story on the Hawaii governor, who asked land speculators and real estate agents to stop contacting those who had lost their homes wanting to buy the land, decrying those who would do such a thing. He even said the state was going to move to invalidate sales. Then he went on to talk about how he was considering taking all of the land by eminent domain and either building a worker's village (project) there, which the workers would not own or turning it into a green space to honor those who once lived there. In other words, he was okay with the state being the land grabber, but he didn't want any competition. I found it interesting that he would propose the state take the land and build a project for resort workers to live in, but he wasn't considering assisting the landowners in rebuilding what they had before or pressuring insurance companies to honor their policies. What better way to honor those who had lost their lives and homes than to take it from them and build a greenspace that can be used to lure tourists?
