I belong to two specific disease Support Groups and have been able to share information, give support and encouragement to others with the same disease.

Several Facebook groups, but I don't participate very much in them. They're not really support groups, though. I belong to the SENIORSonly Club Facebook group, a couple of political ones, a group for retired EMS people, and a local EMS group from the Rio Grande Valley, where I can keep up with what's going on in EMS there, where I worked. It's interesting to see how some of my former students, and not even the best students, now own their own companies or are teaching EMS. Some of the people I worked with, who were paramedics then, have gone on to become nurses or doctors.

I belong to several of the Facebook support groups, mostly for health and diets, particularly low carb diets. I also belong to one for people with heart problems, and it focuses on how a low carb diet can help with keeping your heart working better when you have something like a-fib or heart failure.
I usually read through all of my groups about once each day, and sometimes respond to a topic there, but usually, I just read unless I feel that I have something important to add to the group.
I think that this kind of group can be a big help to anyone who is going through any kind of illness, because different people learn different techniques that can help people, so it is a great way to learn, as well as just have the support of people with the same issues that you have.

No, just a group for it, which is only used to promote the forum on Facebook and which can also be used as a way for me to post information about the forum if it should go down for any reason, or where people can get ahold of me if they are unable to log into their account. Anyone is welcome to post there, and I invite you to do so, but it's not a version of the forum.

No. I don't have a facebook account. Due to their censorship of conservative voices, I never plan to have one.

I am not aware of their censorship of conservative voices. Could you post a reference?

This has been an on-going conversation on many outlets, Lon. From one of many google responses:

According to a recent Media Research Center poll, one-third (32%) of self-described conservative Facebook users have left or are considering leaving Facebook due to political censorship; two-thirds of conservatives agreed they do not trust Facebook to treat its users equally regardless of their political beliefs; and another two-thirds of self-described conservatives believe social media companies such as Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube are purposely censoring conservatives and conservative ideas from their platforms.

Interesting, and from the same article...

The day after the Jeffrey Epstein scandal broke, Google algorithms miraculously couldn’t find any search suggestions linking “Clinton and Epstein,” but gave a slew of recommendations for “Epstein and Trump” and “Epstein and Acosta.”

The liberal social media platforms want to decide what we should know.

Thanks Beth-----I am a conservative and have made lots of posts on Facebook and to the best of my knowledge have never been censored for anything political that I posted.

It's too bad that the censorship is allowed, Lon. This is also from that article...

The problem is real and the stakes are high. With YouTube having 1 billion active users a month, Facebook having 1.2 billion daily users, and Twitter with 126 million, Americans using these forums should be able to listen, read, watch and digest both conservative and liberal viewpoints at their will. Disfavored speech should be countered with more speech. Debates’ should be had freely and passionately, after all, since we live in a democracy, and that’s what should be protected: the freedom of speech.

I am going to go on Facebook right now and post something favorable about Trump and then see what happens.

I enjoy facebook groups, and I belong to several political conservative groups. I have heard that some of the conservative groups have been shut down, but I don’t think that any of the ones that I belong to are being closed or even censored.
Since Facebook is a private social media, the company can pretty much decide what kind of posts are allowed to be made on their website, just like YouTube does.
I think that YouTube has banned nudity and pornographic videos, and no one has objected that it violated free speech; but now that they have also decided to take off any kind of videos that they consider “fake news”, they are removing a lot of things put out by conservatives; so that is causing a lot of complaining from conservatives.

Having the right to free speech doesn’t mean that people can say anything they want, anywhere they want to. If someone came to our house and started using extremely vulgar language, Bobby would be “censoring” them immediately.
As much as I don’t like them doing it, I think that Facebook has the right to determine what content they allow on their website.

Here is what I posted five minutes ago.

    A November 3, 2019 Prediction
Trump will win even more spectacular than before due to overwhelming support from many that disliked him but did not hate him and came to appreciate & benefit from his accomplishments.

I doubt that your single post will trigger any censor, Lon. They are gunning for bigger fish who dedicate their Facebook presence to Conservatism.
