I did not want to even step into this part of the Forum...and yet I found my mouth watering at just reading the topic! There is so much backed up in my mind because it hasn't been exercised for so long. Not that I would trade seasons in my life for anything...but my vocabulary and writing skills, etc. have been limited to the most precious age of newborn to not in school learning these things! That is to me one of the best gifts I have ever been given...heart connecting, which does not need many words, any specific language, or dots at the end of the sentence! But that season of my life is passing and so much that was backed up wants to spring forth...Help!
I just came from a topic of do you keep a journal...maybe that will help you to focus your thoughts if you keep a journal or diary of some kind. Writing about things is easier than trying to think it out sometimes. When you write it down you can practice your writing too.
I have joined forums to enhance my writing skills because I have been getting not so good reviews of my writing. My grammar is quite okay but some say that I lack the idioms and adjectives. Obviously my vocabulary is not that wide so it's not only in writing but also in reading that I have to brush up on. Well, I guess I have improved much because I don't get any criticism when I submit a report in the office. Besides, I feel comfortable now unlike before when I write reports, it always takes a lot of time as if I have difficulty in composing my sentences.
I'm afraid the the correctness of my writing is not that important to me. If bad writing is the worse thing that I do I'm good with that.
Getting all long winded and detailed bores me. That is not meant to insult anyone, I may have ADD or something.
I agree with the idea of a diary. When I kept a diary, I found myself searching for the correct word to describe my feelings and sentences to explain my thoughts. It helped to get the wheels in the brain churning again.
@Babs Hunt , I think you must have been practicing without knowing it. You write very well, and without trying or making others feel belittled. Sometimes when we are faced with great changes in our lives, or we feel as if we are loosing part of ourselves, we gain or even regain other attributes that we either forgot or just plain didn't know we had. The Creator wouldn't leave you hanging, but sometimes it is hard to remember that. I thought your explination of how the seasons of your life are changing in a way that your not yet happy with was excellent. I can't wait to hear where your faith in your Lord takes you next. (((Hugs))).
Oh @Ina I. Wonder thank you so much for blessing me with your encouraging words and hugs. They are very much appreciated and much needed by me today.
