I hardly use my laptop but it's a great backup when my trusty old Windows 10 has an issue I need to fix I also find it uncomfortable, anymore, using a laptop, rather sit at a desk unless I set it up as my main puter. Tablets I just can't, or won't take the time to get used to. I think people that get used to just using them are less apt to get to addicted to the computer I could be wrong though. I just don't like holding anything and my off-screen keyboard and I are joined at the hip, LOL!

Ok, this is what you're talking about I think Mary, and you should have this "tool bar" when you click or tap your SOC forum That was confusing me a bit too Thanks John for the clarification
I clicked on forum but no toolbar. You haven't used the full benefit of the laptop. I have it at the kitchen table. You can eat and post on SOC! Drink coffee and do paperwork. I have high chairs on wheels for my leg and a high table.
You'll only see it if you go to post, or reply Mary, and as @John Brunner shows, if it isn't up automatically, you can show "rich text editor" to get it up.
Mary, the toolbar is in the reply box when you click on a post to respond; it's not the toolbar at the top of the browser screen. You must see it because you are using smilies.
