Hi and good morning all you fine people. I finally divested myself of the two teenagers my neighbor's drop off at my house last Thursday. One boy age 17, and a girl age 16, and not related. Seems they tricked their parents into leaveing them at my house without telling either set of parents about the other 'child' that would be staying with me at the same time. I fixed them. I made the girl sleep with me and little Izzy. If she moved, Izzy growled every time he felt the young lady moved. Izzy hasn't had anyone in mommy's bed since daddy died. I never left them alone together for one minute, plus I made them tell their parents about the shenanigans they pulled. What's weird is they still want to come visit, and they know that means no more sleep over at the same time. I'm getting to old to keep up with this kind of thing anymore, but it did remind me of when I had five of my own teenagers living at home at the same time. I had forgotten about the eagle eye I had to keep focused on them, way back then.
I can't get to sleep, and of course there are things I need to do later. Which will mean I'll be dragging myself through the day. It is so hot and humid that I hate to be out after noon. I seem to have lost my 'get up and go' lately. I can't wait until October when the weather is bearable again, and I can come out of my summer hibernation.
Sometimes when I can't make my mind shut down to go to sleep, I do math problems. Try it, you'll be surprised, your mind will shut down quicker than thinking over 'things'. I know it sounds boring, but that's the point. Try variations of this one.
@Patsy Faye, I like your idea better too, but with IBS I can't eat after about 6:00pm. BOO HOO !!! I wonder what a compromise would be? Got any ideas? Even imaginary ones would be interesting to think about.
@Ina I. Wonder - after years of suffering with IBS I have found something that really helps I take a probiotic tablet 10 minutes before a meal (once a day) then an hour or more later, I take A.Vogel Yarrow complex drops 23 drops in a little water Both these items have been great to calm things down. You could take the probiotic before breakfast and the Yarrow before lunch whatever suits you Well worth a try Ina I got them from Amazon
