I just got a call from the Falcon Jukebox Company, to tell me that our tune box will be delivered on September 1st! I brought in my record player to spin some vinyl, during the interim. Here's an oldie.
Friday again. Time seems to fly by faster now that I'm retired. It's 8:50 am here and fog is starting to burn off. Rainy night and I woke up to no wifi. No tv, no phone, no forums. Anyway, it came on about 7:30 and everything is back to normal. Glad to hear that the jukebox is on its way. Hope it works better than the one on Arnold's on Happy Days. For all you folks having your coffee, I'm rushing over to bring you your toast. My truck should be there shortly.
@Dave Sun, Since you are well known as the bread, and pastries man of long ago and forever, could you find a few substitutes for those of us who can't eat many bread products. I would appreciate it enormously. @Joe Riley, The new tunes box sounds like it will be a great addition. Will you be open to suggestions on the available songs. If so could I suggest a least one Freddy Fender. I haven't heard him in years, but I'm sure you remember him. Also, what do you think of making the cafe calorie free? That would surely be a benifit to all, and as I've not seen one around in the area, I think it even could be good business.
Dave is the bread expert, Ina, but after talking to Flo and Shorty, I have a few ideas for bread-less sandwiches. There's Whole wheat and gluten free, of course, Portobello mushrooms, Tortillas, Pita bread, Lettuce wraps, Almond bread, and Red peppers. Dave's Pumpkin bagels, along with Pita bread, lettuce wraps and red pepper sandwiches will be on the menu. We can put up a "Calorie Free Zone" sign, but I'm not sure if the calories would observe it. Freddie will be on the Juke box, for sure, and I found one of his in my pile of records, that I will play for you. One advantage of a virtual coffee shop like the "Hi-GoodBye", is that we can be flexible. Go with God, Ina!
Freddie Fender is a great singer, and Vaya Con Dios has been one of my favorte songs since I was a teenager, and first heard it. Here is my favorite Freddie Fender song to put on the jukebox.
@Joe Riley, you are brilliant, lettuce wraps, what a great idea. There is no where around here that I can aquire such quality food. Your idea of of portobello mushroom in place of bread is very appetizing. This just might be place to have my daily meal, and it comes with several of my senior friends. Oh, I almost forgot to ask, do we each get one of those spoons? @Yvonne Smith, Thank you for the name and video of the Freddt Fender rong, I couldn't remember the title. So are we going to start a list of songs so we have a nice variety to begin with, and of course the list will change every so often, because there are so many great old songs.
Good morning, Ina! Yes, all of the spoons and forks are of the "calorie free" variety. Now if you eat off knife...well,that's another story. That reminds me of a little ditty: "I eat peas with honey, I've done it all my life. It does taste kind of funny...but it keeps them on my knife"! Right now we have to be content to play a few vinyl records for music. When the Juke box arrives, we will be able to choose from a large selection of songs to listen to. Flo has hung hummingbird feeders on the back deck, that could provide us with "easy listening"!
As I sit here eating my scrambled eggs, bacon and toast, I find myself staring at the "Dish washer Wanted" sign in the window. Most of the younger folks probably think of a kitchen appliance, rather than a person who is a Dish dog or a Pearl diver. These funny names, are remnants of an earlier age...HaHa! I came across the story of Dishwasher Pete, that you might enjoy reading.
Yesterday, while we were shopping, I was in the bakery section looking for muffins. Usually we get a 4 pack, 2 banana nut and 2 blueberry. Didn't see them this time, but did find Chocolate with chocolate chip muffins! I never heard of chocolate muffins. I'll have to ask Dave if he can bring some around next time he makes a run. Dave is our "Go-To Muffin Man"! Oh, and I broke a record the other day....a 78 RPM record, that is. Phil Harris singing "The Thing" . I played it for Yvonne's Happy Song thread, and when I took it off the turntable, the thing ...just broke! I felt bad, and had to play a Tony Bennett number!
"Consistently serving the finest espresso – It is rare in business to discover a product where consistently offering 100% quality is the best commercial decision you can make. In fact, I am the greatest advocate for the 80% is perfect model. But espresso coffee is one of those rare products where consistent 100% quality matters. Customers will walk past ten other competitors to get the best espresso, which is why this factor alone means you don’t need the highly visible, most expensive location. So buy the best espresso coffee machine (3/4 group Italian made with e61 groupheads and set to the right pump and temperature levels), install it with a water purifier and demineralizer, use a conical grinder, and only buy top quality Arabica or Arabica 90%/Robusta 10% freshly roasted beans, and make sure every cup is made by a fully trained barista who is continually seeking the ‘god shot.’"
Uncle Al hired Sam as our new Dishwasher, last week. Sam is working out fine as our new "Bubble Dancer" as he calls himself.
