There is a saying about waiting for the other shoe to drop.
Two years ago it was very warm up through January here. Then in February temps crashed to 22F below zero. and stayed there for a while. I hope for both our sakes that global warming stays with us for a while. (Although I am of the opinion it is the tilt of the axis change rather than car exhaust )

We were supposed to have snow flurries according to the weather report and the radar last night, but it must have missed Huntsville, and I am not sure that we even got rain.
Neither Bobby or I like snow, but if we were going to have that happen, right now seemed like the very best time.
Kids are home from school and can play in the snow (all half inch of it) and maybe the cold and snow might stop some of the fireworks that are sure to happen this holiday weekend.

Anyway, none of that happened, and it is just above freezing here right now. Staying inside and bundled up again today.

0 F. this morning, so it is a bit warmer than recently. It was -20 or lower for most of the time when our kids and grandkids were here, so everybody was locked inside and many were sick. Groan!

Well, we can both "wait" and "hardly wait" until we move back into Old Man Winter. This time, in northwestern Nevada. Winters there not nearly as bad as the two places we lived at in Colorado, but there is still a winter. Yearly average of 20 inches of snow in northwestern Nevada compared to 42 inches of snow in both areas of Colorado that we lived in. We still have ALL of our winter clothes from both times we lived in Colorado............thank God!

Well it should be in the upper 30’s ( 95F) cause it’s summer …..forecast for Adelaide to day 27c ….that will mean about 24c ( 75f ) for us due to being near the sea , we don’t have any fruit to dry this year ( very poor crops on all the trees) it would take forever to dry fruit with this cool weather

None! Vegas/Henderson has seen snowfall, but it's pretty rare. Last snowfall, of about 2 inches was in January of 2023. It just doesn't really get cold enough to snow...........that much anyway. Just one reason it's getting so heavily populated here, along with numerous jobs. If a person is young, and has experience in specific areas, getting a full-time job here is no problem at all. But, John, it's like I just stated, "if a person is young".

We have so-called "winterized" our boat by taking both block plugs out and draining the water from the block. There are all kinds of boats sitting in berths in both large marinas at Lake Mead.

Since you are thinking about checking out the area further north in Nevada, you might want to ask for helpful information from @John Houlihan , because he lives near Sparks, Nevada, and he has said that he really likes it there and thinks that area is an good place to live, @Cody Fousnaugh

Thanks, Yvonne. I got a reply from a member of City-Data forum that very highly recommended that Carson City, or even Reno, would be better for us than here. But, since we have to live in an apartment, Reno may be our only option. We will see. Actually, my wife told someone yesterday that she misses seeing the wildlife (elk/deer, etc.) that was in Colorado. The deer are right in the Sierra Mountain Range just west of both Carson City and Reno.

We talked to a young guy (would be a "sons" age) that is an Engineer at Stratosphere Hotel/Casino now. He told us that he would've loved to stay living in the Carson City/Reno area, but just couldn't get a job. When he got to Vegas, it took him one day to get an Engineering job at the Stratosphere.
