Nice here for the time of year--highs in the upper 20s and low 30s and the snow is starting to go away! Lows in the low 20s.
We don't have near the snow we had last year, but I still worry first about flooding (not here but nearby) and secondly about wildfire. I have written before about my fear of wildfire in May and June particularly. I think I told my evacuation story elsewhere. We have several water pumps now, so I have to pray I won't have to use them. I use them for irrigation when I don't need them for fire precautions.
Well, it's cold here in Washington state — 32F degrees. I've got a little portable heater running so I don't freeze here in my office. Wasn't this cold in SoCal (Los Angeles) but I'll admit I'm still wearing shorts and a t-shirt, so there's that.
'Twas in the 80's today and dropping back down to the 40's tonight. Flipping from a/c to heat these days.
Thing shave been warming up so the lows are in the 40s. That's gonna change in a couple of days (back to the low 30s.) Tomorrow is gonna rain all day, from before sunup till after dark...perfect weather for making a natch of Italian bread.
I was gonna tag you, but there are others in my life who deserve my mean streak more than you do. The biga is on the counter as we speak.
Welllll, yesterday was sort of warm so I started to detail my hubby's car. He was nice enough to let me use it this winter with it's 4 wd. But it's been so nice I am getting ready to give it back to him. He only uses it on Thursdays to have brunch with the bulls. Anyway, being resourceful, (not lazy) It started raining yesterday. So, I left car out in the driveway to get it rinsed off with soft water. Normally, I don't have a life. I go to the farm with it's dirt driveway (thus the dust all over the car with muddy mud flaps) 2-3 times a day for months. However, this morning we had a brunch date with all of our old friends at 9:30. The annual chicken/small animal swap was at the fairgrounds starting at 7 and I had to feed before that to make it to the swap and come back to pick up hubby before brunch. (my car still needs a new fuel pump which I have been putting off till it was time to give my hubby his car back) I am very slow with any movement. I can get things done but have to plan almost every step. Now, back to the weather. I start at 6:45am and I go outside after packing up feed and water. I go to load it, car sitting outside, all nice and shiney but with suspicious droplets stuck all over. The doors are frozen shut! Temps were down to 20's last nite! I don't want to hurt the weather stripping or fall over backwards with a heave ho and I don't have spare time. Driver's side was the least frozen. put feed and water across on passenger side. Used windshield washer fluid instead of scraper to make a space to see until windshield was melted totally. Got to the swap at about 7:40, finished feeding and got home by 9. Fists in the air and the crowd roared!!!! By then the temps were above 32 to finish it weather related.
Put silicone cream (in a tube) on the door gaskets. I usually helps keep the doors from freezing shut. Don't use it on locks, though.
