It's looking like a picture out of the Christopher Robin and Winnie the Pooh books right now at 62 degrees with blustery winds.
I got mine from a guy who bought them needing work and the tiny john deere on craigslist. Jake could be one of those guys
I have catalpa trees a friend gave me when they were seedlings. I just planted four seeds from one of their seed pods. You could probably do the same with redbuds. They even sell them up here!
It only got up to 32 F. today, but the ducks came back today! Since the 2018 earthquake our lake and stream have been thawing earlier. Before the earthquake, the lake would stay frozen to the bottom all winter long, but now if it gets above -20 F. it starts to thaw. I think the springs have feed the lake are now warmer.
OK, now I'm grumpy. We are having snow flurries and wind this morning. I am so ready for spring since has been so nice lately. My chickens reminded me of film clips of umbrellas blown inside out when they came to greet me for treats outside.
Looks like you hit on both bases. Looks like this is a natural phenonium, but I do think we are doing a lot of damage from our waste and by products. Also overfishing 'some' of the oceans.
Rain and more rain. About 4" total in the last couple of days and getting dark outside again. The new garden is loving it.
I would think the rain would make Texans happy. I don't remember ever having been to Texas to know. Hubby just told me that he read our Lake Winnebago is quite low of late. I can't believe it with all the melting this year but he said it is down 3 ft. I was watching vids on Lake Powell, where I had been when it was down only FIFTEEN feet, in the video it looked like it had become little more than a puddle. But then it started filling up a bit with other lakes in the southwest. Not sure where it is now. I remember driving through California years ago. It seemed like areas of that state were always in a drought, until of course, when they were being flooded causing sever mud slides. The vinyards always seemed to look good. We had a '100 year flood' around 2009( I really worried about my farm) and one in 1927 and in 2014(?)... Weather keeps happening!!!
I think this is a natural thing. I think it might have opened a small channel into a hot spring somewhere. We have overfished ALL the oceans and seas, but the worst is around East Asia.
Hah. Hurricane Harvey in 2017; Cedar Bayou in Houston received a storm total of 51.88 inches of rainfall which was a new North American record. Cedar Bayou is about 10 miles from here. We live on the San Jacinto River; it can be seen from our front yard. This was during Harvey... That's about 1/4 of the neighborhood boat ramp and (with the other 3/4 under water). The house on the right has a dock and a swimming pool that were completely submerged. That was the highest the river has been in the 30 years we have lived here.
Yup. Maybe it was 2017 not 14. The hundred year flood brought the edge of my pond up to my wood pasture fencing and when it receded we could pick pan fish off the lawn for dinner. I can't post the pix but It looked pretty much like yours except, no boat ramp.
