They make up all kinds of stories. One of the largest landfill fires in history is going on outside New Delhi, India at the moment. It has been smoldering for some time, but apparently recently burst into flames. There are rumors that the U.S. government is going to declare a "Climate Emergency" to regain some of the powers that were lost when the Covid emergency ended. Maybe that is what is causing the cold @Tom Galty ;)

It's a little chilly and raining, which is typical for a Maine spring day.

Beautiful as Alaska springs can get: bright and sunny with highs in the low 50s F. Fire season is just around the corner though, so paranoia is setting in as the snow melts. Still around freezing at night though.

As night falls, the rain has turned to snow.

Weird weather. It will be in the 40s or 50 in the morning whether sunny or cloudy. Then after noon the temperature will rise up to 60s or 70s but won't last long because it becomes windy with a chill in the air but the temperature doesn't change. I don't remember Spring being so weird but then again as we in Ohio always say, 'It's Ohio, what do you expect?'

We had one of the mildest winters since I've been in Maine, yet it doesn't want to end. The snow was gone before I got out of bed this morning, although it was on the ground when I looked out the window sometime after the sun came up, although the bowl of drinking water that I put out for the feral cats has a layer of ice on it.

Still very nice. Daytime temps near 60 F. but night still below freezing. We now have access to almost all our property but there is still snow and water in quite few places. Repaired winter damage to our oldest greenhouse and my wife pressure-washed the patio and deck. Water and heat are on in the little greenhouse (closest to the house) and we have started to move plants out there a few at a time. Up-potting tomatoes will start tomorrow as we have been hardening things off a bit every day.
