It's about to get very hot here! Like, 112 next week and were still in June. July is the hottest month here, being that it can get up to 115. Problem is, the humidity here, during the day, generally is below 10%. We can barely make it to go out for dinner in the evening. Prescott, AZ, more than Reno, NV, is starting to look better and better to us. Will be signing a 10 month Lease so we have enough time to figure out where we are going to move to. Plan is, to visit Prescott next April/May 2025. At least we will still be here for the National Finals Rodeo in December.
Today was the fifth consecutive day in the mid nineties with high humidity and the AC has been running overtime. I was getting cabin fever already, but a thunderstorm rolled through this evening and the temperature dropped to 71, so I flung all the windows open and turned on an exhaust fan to get some fresh air in here for a change.
With it 106 as I write this and going up towards 115 next week, we sure didn't want to do a Lease Renewal, but had to.
Just got back to Kansas City from a visit to Iowa where there is flooding. 103 F. when we arrived this afternoon. Near 80 F. at home in AK, so fires are heating up there.
At last its got warm and even to day hot, very hot. After months of cold and rain. Its hit 82F today and as you might beaware we dont do AC cause we donrt have to most of the time. By Friday it will be down to the low 70s.
Before the reunion in Minneapolis, it was blistering hot. And then it rained and flooded the farm while we were gone. Daughter sent me pix. She said that is not grass, mom, it's duck weed from the pond overflowing... But this week is is quite pleasant, high 70's. Thunderstorms and hail last nite but I am sure the rain is done now.
We have been in the 90’s+ for the last couple of weeks, and not looking like it is going away any time soon. I have been going outside early and working in the yard and flower gardens, and then back inside during the heat of the day. Most days, I try to go in and out, and work a little bit outside, in whatever part of the yard has some shade, and then back inside to cool down again. The heat wears me out. Today , Bobby helped me get into the backyard pool, and that was wonderful ! We just laid around on the float devices and enjoyed the sunshine and had a nice conversation together.
It broke 100 for a moment a few days ago, was in the 90s the following day, 70s yesterday, and probably in the high 70s or low 80s today.
We reach 100 every few years, but rarely for more than two or three days. More often, our highs are in the 80s.
86 here in KC and clear. Storms last night with wind and lightning. Going back to AK tomorrow and 70s and low 80s F. Looking forward to looking at the garden and greenhouses and how they have done while we were gone and they were under the supervision of a house sitter.
