It's been cool with a few days of rain. I'm gonna pay the price for having not done more outside work...it's gonna be upper 80s/low 90s for the next week or so. The "feels like" (because of humidity) is only gonna be a couple of degrees above air temp. I'm like Goldilocks ("too hot", "too cold") except I don't seem to have a "just right."
We had such good hay last year that the sheep objected to going out and eating the new grass before 'breakfast'. I worry a lot about hay next year. The field is green enough just now, though. We had a lot of rain and then blistering heat. Two days and it is time to mow! almost.
Yesterday was the nicest day so far. Near freezing in the morning, but it hit 65 F. for the first time this year. Woo-Hoo!
Hot and dry here; unseasonably so. Typically Houston springtime is mild with plenty of rain, but not this year. I hope this doesn't mean we're going to have a brutal summer.
We have a very, very cold front coming in tomorrow evening. Tomorrow's high is forecast to be 87 or 88. Overnight we will drop some 45 degrees for a high on Friday of 45 degrees. Calling for a mixture of rain/snow tomorrow night. A lot of folks here are going to be pi**ed off for this coming weekend and how cold it will be. Then, the following Friday (27th) we will be 87 degrees again.
Cloudy and 74 degrees, so a little break in the heat. We got 1.5" of rain before dawn with thunder and lightening. Forecast rain for the next 4 days so that's good. We really need this rain.
Wonderful here. Mid 70s during the day and around 50 last night. Starting to plant the gardens outside.
The past few weeks they have forecast strings of days with non-stop rain, only for us to get intermittent showers on just one of those days. We were supposed to have non-stop rain yesterday, today and tomorrow. This ended up only being rain off & on for most of today only, culminating in tornado warnings in the evening and a power outage lasting a couple of hours when strong storms ripped through. The power outage seemed to only hit my immediate area, so I drove into Charlottesville to an Applebee's that is open until midnight (else is on contracted hours.) I grabbed dinner, sat there & read for a bit, drove home, made coffee on my gas stove, and the power came back on within 15 minutes of me hitting the door.
We just had a couple of days of good rains. Unfortunately I found out, despite gutter guards, there were clogs in two gutters. Not good for foundations.
Rain the last two days and now partly cloudy with a light wind and a high of 68. Tonight's lows are expected to be in the 50s. Way cool for this time of year and record-breaking rainfall.
