Most of them are here seeking "asylum" though they don't meet the criteria. So when they register with the border patrol they are supposed to return for a court hearing or something. Of course, most of them just disappear into the night with their new phone.
Ah, I get it now. Around here I think most of the homeless are either drug addicts, mentally ill or just plain poor. West Virginia is one of the whitest states with 90% whites. I don't know why.
Just to differentiate "homeless" and "illegals"--to me the homeless are actual American citizens who have no place to live. They are not getting hotel rooms and cell phones; only the illegals get those perks. Texas has a very high rate of hispanics as would be expected at the rate they are swarming across the river.
The 'migrant' issue is heating up a bit in Colorado. The declared sanctuary city of Denver is saying they can't stay afloat budget wise because Texas has sent too many. Denver is asking state officials to set a limit on how long 'migrants' can stay in state funded rooms. Some 'migrants' say they they have received letters of eviction from Denver and their belongings have been taken. The city of Denver says it has spent $40 million on them. Denver Health Hospital says they need help in covering $10 million in unpaid medical bills. Denver Public Schools have enrolled 3K 'migrant' children since last July, most of whom have very little education. About 70 miles down the road the commissioners of El Paso County and the mayor of Colorado Springs see what's going to be coming their way from Denver and have issued a notice that they are not, and never have been, a sanctuary city or county and they don't intend to start now. They say they are drawing a line in the sand. CS and El Paso County public funds will not be used for migrants, so they say. Colorado Springs did get a busload last Sunday and the Salvation Army is helping them. Apparently the bus is what set off residents and local officials.
And, I read this morning how Denver police are trying to handle those immigrants that are running up to vehicles, on busy streets, to wash the driver's windshield for money. Police call it "dangerous", but immigrants are calling it "survival" and say they won't stop.
Where we use to live, Loveland, Colorado, the demographics was 92% white. When the Pandemic hit, there were residents there that lost their jobs and had to live in their vehicle. However, there are those homeless that want to be that way and won't even take help from any family members. There are those that absolutely will not live in an area/city that isn't totally diverse in race. I'm part of a relocation forum and some members, looking to move to somewhere else, would ask the question: "do Blacks live there?", "do people from India live there" and so on.
Denver is a place I like to avoid. I haven’t seen that yet but I remember reading about that happening in other big cities. I wouldn’t like anyone running up to my car for any reason. I wonder what happens if the driver doesn’t pay.
I would love to sympathize... but none of the overrun Texas border towns are sanctuary cities, either. They are mostly small, poor towns that are overwhelmed. So "boo hoo" to Colorado.
No sympathy expected or wanted. I posted it as information because it shows a change of attitude in one state. Maybe I put this in the wrong thread. It seemed related because every dollar spent on illegals is a dollar not spent on homeless and a dollar out of the taxpayer’s pocket.
g By then it will be much too late ,too little. Did you note the invaders are mostly healthy-looking young men? Can't say that for American young men today, Many are either keeping the Cartel in luxury thru drug habits or online eating Big Macs. This is the NWO army setting up camp. Not Trojan Horse because it is not a surprise to anyone. All western nations are falling to the third world invasions. Scandinavia is being invaded too, I just feel sorry for the younger generation. This is a planned invasion and even if we did try another Eisenhower " Operation Wetback" it would be a war with millions of young men and their allies. I don't think we would win, sad but it's all things considered.
