Once I discovered the 'European' way, have never gone back to the 'American' way. Using the folk with tines down and gathering the food with a knife just makes more sense. Meat, potatoes and peas together in one bite is the best IMHO. Living in Hawaii for 11 years, I'm pretty good with chop sticks and use them a lot at home. ( even have a travel set for vacations...)
I tried eating with chop sticks a few times when I was younger...and always ended up asking for a fork.
@Babs Hunt My younger nephew has never been good at adaptive challenges, career involved Social Sciences. But survival is instinctive, and he eats quite well using his fingers as chopsticks. Frank
I guess if the only thing there was is chopsticks...I'd be searching the menu or buffet for "finger" foods too or getting my order to go so I could eat it with a fork at home.
