Our fuel prices have gone up almost 10 cents per gallon more than they were about 2 days ago. We had prices from $2-$2.05 yesterday, and this morning, the gas station close to us is at $2.09 for regular. I am sure that it will be climbing even more, and not just us, but probably all over the United States, since most of our oil refineries and the barges that get the oil are either shut down, or possibly damaged from the hurricane. We just topped off our gas tank, and I think that this is probably a good thing to do, regardless which state you live in. Even without the refineries being closed down, there has been a tremendous usage of fuel in the parts of Texas where the hurricane is at because people got gas, and some evacuated, before the storm came ashore. There were pictures online of huge lines of cars waiting to get fuel before the storm hit and the freeways were closed down.
Mine has gone up also. Just noticed yesterday that it was $3.19 for regular at a 76 station which is on the cheaper side. Chevron is the most expensive here.
Hello, On July 11,1952 I turned 16 and went to the DMV and took and passed my Drivers License Test. I took the test using my own car, a 1934 Plymouth which I bought earlier for $35. It was then my responsibility to buy my own gasoline. Gas at that time was 20 cents per gallon, with an occasional gas war where the price dropped to 18 cents. When my friends and I wanted to cruise, we dug into our Levis to see how much change we could come up with, and if we had 40 cents, we could buy 2 gallons of gas, which let us happily cruise around town! Here's that '34 Plymouth, which was the only car I owned that was older than me! Hal (Note the suicide doors!)
The least I paid for gasoline was 13 cents a gallon. I found that in a gas station somewhere in Nevada, Arizona, or New Mexico, I don't remember now. I was driving from California to Michigan and there was apparently a gas war going on at the time, probably in the early 1970s. Thirteen cents a gallon was crazy cheap even at that time but, unfortunately, I was driving a motorcycle that didn't hold a lot of gallons.
Today, in May, 2018, our gasoline is running from $3.35 to $3.59 per US Gallon. Sometimes my Mazda never leaves the garage for a week. My wife always uses her Nissan to take us shopping and to Restaurants and other places. Hal
I think that ours here was $2.49 the last time I looked; but i will try and pay attention the next time that I go past a gas station and see what it is running now. It seems like it goes up and down from day to day, and with summer coming, it will probably stay higher for the next few months.
In Millinocket, the prices were $2.81 yesterday, but they are much cheaper in Bangor, Maine. The prices go up the further north you go in Maine.
Paid $6.35 a gallon E10 yesterday. E5 would be slightly higher. Anyone interested? Is there something wrong over here? Ah, yep, we haven't got oil. That's why....
Just got home from the store and it was $3.59 for regular. Think it was a Valero station which is usually cheaper than the Chevron by my house.
Around $3.00 to $3.10 per gallon around here. Gas in the Bush is closer to what Thomas is paying, but there are few roads and not many places to drive to. The gas is used for boats, 4-wheelers and snowmobiles...and airplanes, but that is different. We do have oil, but little refining capacity.
You'd think so, but it's not the case really... . Here in ruraldomshire , a car is a necessity, but in the city not so much because there's great public transport.
