Just got back from the store and it's already hot out, will be sunny all day and a high of 93! Also, almost stole an avocado Put one in the cup holder in my cart and forgot or didn't see it til I was almost out the door...naturally I went back and paid for it but it was tempting....$2.49 for an avocado in California!! Robbery!
Why that's highway robbery @Chrissy Cross! I think they grow avocados out in California so they sure shouldn't cost you that much to buy them over there. It's probably because they ship them to China first and they ship them back to California to sell to y'all. We live in a world that is getting crazier by the day!
Lol...I know, it's ridiculous! I love avocados so I buy them even at that ridiculous price. It's my splurge, since I really don't spend on much else.
I guess this is the reason why they're high by me. https://www.bloomberg.com/news/arti...jump-as-avocado-shortage-sparks-record-prices
Alberston's circular for this week is advertising them at 2 for $3 which is way to high for me to buy them right now. And this price is for the small ones. It seems I don't see to many large size ones anymore. I'll have to ask my Honey to be on the lookout for soft ones with bruise or two from where he works since those would be free to us.
We had a successful trip to Ikea and after wandering through all the various furniture displays, bough a kingsize duvet, which we will try out shortly, the old one I brought from the UK and it's some 25 years old so in need of replacing. We were caught in another snowstorm while out, but from next week the weather is supposed to warm up a bit ....I hope your weekend is going well....
I am being a 'lump' as defined by the Urban Dictionary, "2. Someone who does nothing but sit around.." Just spent some time working on my tan; can't go around in shorts with these 'pasty' legs. Not sure why, but there aren't any flying bugs out. Strange. Not gonna complain...
Got our Dodge Durango fixed today. Needed tires balanced and tire rotation done along with an alignment. Goodyear called us and told us our transmission fluid needed to be flushed. Suppose to be done every 50k miles, but we never thought about having it done. We've owned the Durango since Dec. 2005 and it was brand new in Feb. 2005. When the shop told me about the trany flush, I asked my wife and she said "definitely do it". Now the vehicle is driving like a new one! Next is our boat repair. One more week and my wife has a week off. Going to a waterpark for the day and, hopefully, our boat will be repair by that week and we can take her out on the water. Work on Durango done and hopefully the boat soon...........life is good!
