Finally got our clothes dryer fixed. Didn't want to go to the local laundromat, so waited til today, when it was fixed. Have three loads to do. Will have to call marine shop tomorrow and see how our boat repair is progressing. Was told on Monday that it would be ready by Friday for this weekend. Wife has four days off.........yahoo! Funny, but put a new Thread on a relocation forum asking about Cheyenne, Wyoming and Rapid City, S.D.. Both, we are considering moving to in about two years. After explaining what we were like (love Western/cowboy stuff), and that we had lived south of Denver for 5 1/2 years, some replies wondered how we ever got to Florida.
Just saw the official count on the attendance for our 4th of July fireworks here in Nashville, it was over 240,000. Kind of glad we didn't go downtown this year. We did go the local minor league baseball game on the 3rd and they did a nice firework display after the game, so we got our firework fix for the year.
Still waiting on info in regards to a workmans comp issue....hubby is better but all this paperwork and waiting is nightmarish. Then dear almost 92 yr old father in law fell fell ..again...cracked rib...another nigthmare but to long to explain. Scrapping bottom of the barrel...but I is well and that is all that matters
A quick hello and goodnight from Lima, the flight went well they served us three meals, two were curries, the other an Englsh cream tea plus a couple of G&Ts,........ we arrived 20 minutes early. Our first impressions of the people here are good, the passport control and other staff at the airport were very welcoming, and Marcos the owner of the flat where we are staying for the night is an angel, nothing is too much trouble, he will give us a lift back to the airport in the morning where we fly to Cusco, which is a high altitude place, so will be a test.... I will catch up with you all tomorrow, if you don't hear from me for a few days, I have succumbed to altitude sickness I seem to have travelled back in time some 6 hours so are probably nearer to US time, its 10:30 pm here at the moment....my internal clock is all awry, so I will try and sleep now ..... Enjoy your ...... Wednesday/Thursday or whatever day it is..........
Hi everyone, just checking in at 7pm local time, our flight arrived late morning to a gloriously sunny day in he 70s.. the apartment we are staying in for the next 4 nights is a wonderful 350 year old building with an inner courtyard, and our rooms have views over the town of Cusco. We have been drinking Coca tea all day, they even hand out coca leaves at the airport here, we have followed the advice given about not doing too much and eating mainly carbohydrates in small portions, and no alcohol. We're also taking Diamox and high strength Ibroprofen, to hopefully stave off the altitude sickness. Both our blood oxygen levels dropped to the low 70s from their usual 95/98 on arrival, they have stabilised around 85 at the moment, with a pulse rate permanently high in the 90s, which you can feel. Hopefully we will both wake up in the morning ........ .I am feeling confused and exhausted now so will go for a lie down......I hope you are all having or have had a good Thursday....
My day was peaceful and uneventful, thank God! I took the dog for a walk, went to the store and let the rain come in my windows with the good breeze. Aired out my apartment! It was a nice day.
Today went well, it's been a lovely summery day with sunny periods and in the mid 70s, I spent the day in the garden pruning and having accumulated a huge pile of trimmings, I had a bonfire this afternoon and burnt most of it, I am not even sure if bonfires are legal here anymore, but I filled the neighbourhood with smoke for a while ....... I am relaxing now with a tot of spiced dark rum, which I bought in Aldi the other day in a mad moment........ Hope you are all having a good day...
Lisa is having a great time in Croatia, though it sounds too hot for me in the 90s every day They are staying in an apartment near a beach in a village just up the coast from Dubrovnik.... here are a few family photos I received... Lisa with Miro on the beach... Lisa's daughter Katya with her two boys Miro and Dmitri.. Katya's daughter Anisia... Dmitri in beach mode.... Miro looking like I would feel in the heat....
That looks like a beautiful beach, @Terry Page , and it seems like the whole family is having a great time in the water, so it must be pretty warm, too. We had a pretty good day today. this morning, we went to the fitness center and exercised, then came home had lunch, and took a nice nap. My mini-trampoline arrived today, and Bobby put it together for me and set it up in the exercise room. It has the safety bars on it ; so I feel pretty comfortable and safe using it. My feet are staying on the trampoline (at least for now); and it only will take a few minutes before my legs are tired; so it is going to be a great piece of exercise equipment. I turned on Pandora and put on the bluetooth headphones, and had a good time back there bouncing. I think that this would be a suitable exercise for just about anyone, because you can tailor it to your own physical abilities, and bounce as easily or as vigorously as you want to . Even little bouncing is supposed to be great for cleaning out the lymph system, and helping your body rid itself of toxins.
Today was okay, I napped today and I always enjoy that. Now am watching the news. A neighbor was arguing awhile ago. Sounded scary to me. It seems to be over with now; I hope they are all okay.
I spent the day eating too much. Oh well, that was just today, tomorrow is another day. I see that not too many folks are posting in the Happy Talk section.
It rained hard from sometime in the middle of the night until about 9 this morning. I had to drive to Fort Smith for an MRI at 1 pm. On the way home I stopped at a bakery and bought a box of mixed goodies.
It's only noon now...so apart from the usual little bit of chores, and wrapping a parcel to send to my daughter oversees, which I'll post later..I haven't done anything much today so far!
