Well, one thing that is well noted in U.S. Crime Stats for each area/state, you have the Hispanic gangs and we have the Black gangs. AND, this isn't being racist, just being factual. Lon, just last night, here in Jacksonville, FL (to some, aka "Murderville, FL), we had a double shooting, but both parties will be ok, and a murder. All was in the predominately black areas of this city, not near us at all. The deceased man was laying in the front yard of a house with multiple gunshot wounds. Funny thing is, we just re-elected the same Mayor and Sheriff we've had. Darn glad we are getting ready to move out of here.
Chrissy Cross & I live in separate but pretty Crime Free parts of Fresno, but the rest of this town has gone crazy with many murders by shootings, stabbings, hit & runs from drivers DUI. Not to sound Racist, but Fresno does have a large Immigrant & Illegal population. If Fresno had been this bad when I first moved here in the 70's I would have moved some where else.
crime is all over the place---they just announced on the news they are closing all parks in this community because their are so many gangs---every day their is a drive by shooting or road rage or people just getting into fights--they dont fist fight any more they just whip out a gun
But, we've been "saying it" and now the "action" is taking place. Now we are paying for a spot for our boat there and doing some serious packing of things. I'm packing most of our dishes today. So, so much for the "talking" of it, the "action" part is now happening.
@Cody Fousnaugh Then you have gotten the deal together! I apologize for sounding so snotty! (couldn't resist a little impishness!). Frank
It's been a couple of years so, how about those of you who are new here? How does your city, town, or village stand up as far as crime goes?
Not so bad right now but this is a Yosemite Sam type little rural town, everyday guns are going off here. Most here have family and stay to themselves but will help others if needed. I hear in the area there are some pockets of heavy crimes but not out here. But I do know there are drugs going on everywhere. So they must keep it hidden.
I don't know anything about crime; I don't pay much attention. Seems like there are a lot of road-rage incidents on the freeways, though. People are so angry these days.
Crime in our area, that we've now lived in for 3 years? A number of DUI's, shoplifting, warrant arrests, but that's about it. But, with a new 600,000 sq. foot Amazon Fulfillment/Distribution Center being built here, the population, traffic and crime are definitely going to rise. Ft. Collins, city just north of us, is already seeing it's crime rise, as in shootings/murders. Basically, the entire Front Range of Colorado has gotten pretty bad with crime. But, many folks think about the nice wages, not the crime, when moving here.
Thank goodness we are moving from a population of over 120,000 and growing like crazy to a town of 779 !
