Wow, this storm gathered strength in a hurry. Predicted to hit the LA/MS coast on Saturday. Looks like @Yvonne Smith and @Bobby Cole may get some effects of this storm. https://weather.com/storms/hurrican...recast-caribbean-united-states-projected-path
By the time it gets here, we usually just get rain, and maybe some strong winds, and sometimes, it is all gone before it makes it this far. Is this one going to hit you again, @Beth Gallagher ? So far, it looks like it will focus over Mississippi, Alabama, and Louisiana, but even so, you will probably get the edges of it.
I don't think they know where it will hit yet, so we will be keeping a close eye on it. Supposedly it will steer to the east of us and I hope that is the case.
Everyone has to live somewhere, but, we sure are glad that we left that coastal region called Jacksonville, Florida. We've already proven to ourselves that we can, again, handle the snow/winter here.
I saw the projected track on TV today and it seems like those storms are on railroad tracks always aiming for the gulf coast somewhere.
I checked the projected track, too. Looks like there'll be heavy rainfall in Houston as well as in Louisiana, Mississippi und Alabama. Since this is the 26th hurricane in this season already, the record year of 2005 with 28 tropical storms might me outdone. Are there actually enough letters of the alphabet left? Keeping my fingers crossed!
