Vivek Ramaswamy made a really good point on Twitter today, at least in my opinion. He pointed out that people are getting all caught up in what happens with Kamala, and it is pretty much pointless.
Whether they take out Biden and put in Harris before the election or not, the same background people will still be controlling things. There is so much political chatter, and it does not make sense. He points out that some people are saying that Harris was covering for Biden, and others are saying she led the coup to force him out of the election campaign, which makes us look confused, stupid, and wrong.
He went through several other things, all good points, I thought, and then ended up reminding us that we need to just focus on getting through to the election and supporting President Trump and our vision for a better America, and not be distracted by what Harris did or didn’t do.
I think that all of this political chatter is a lot of the reason why we are all getting worn out reading and listening to it.
It makes me think I want to go and bury my head in my painting app and paint flowers and not even think about elections.

I have to wonder why Trump didn't choose Vivek as his running mate. I'm beginning to be disillusioned by Vance with his stupid comments about "childless cat ladies, etc." Really?? Is that the way to woo supporters? There are plenty of childless people out there, and as Nancy said yesterday... what about childless MEN? I have a feeling he regrets that stupid statement. So ridiculous.

And a resounding YES to this...

I don't think Kamala is smart enough to lead anything anywhere, but that makes here a perfect front for those behind the scenes who ARE smart enough. She follows orders of those behind and always has (read Willie Brown) but she ticks a number of boxes that satisfy the ignorant.

I gotta say that even I, who have been a political junkie for as long as I can remember, am sick of listening to political rhetoric now that the corruption and misdirection has gotten so bad that Haiti and North Korea are jealous of our propaganda machines.

Here I am again, stuck in the "lesser of 2 evils" voting dilemma. This time I'm referring to the Texas race for US Senate. Ted Cruz makes my skin crawl but I just can't vote for a democrat. Of course, the democrat Colin Allred has voted in support of late-term abortion and abortion without parental notification for teenagers, which is going too far in the abortion thing for my personal beliefs. He claims to be a Christian but how can that be reconciled with his votes on abortion? I have difficulty making all the political liars make sense.

Allred is currently a US Representative, and while in the House has supported student loan forgiveness and does not support requiring ID to vote, so I can't support him at all. But Cruz, tho. Ugh.

Next Monday is early voting in Texas. I may vote for the president and exit the booth.

What does Cruz have to do with abortion? It's a state issue.

Ted Cruz annoys me, but he mostly votes right, at least on the things that are most important to me. There may be some, but I don't think there are anywhere near enough Republicans in the House or Senate to pass an abortion ban at the federal level - and if they did, it would probably be found to be unconstitutional by the Supreme Court. I don't think Trump would sign it anyhow. It's a state issue.

Both candidates are currently serving in congress, so neither of them has anything to do with Texas legislation. But abortion is a HUGE issue in Texas so it's a talking point. They had a televised debate tonight and I had to turn it off... just more "blah, blah." Cruz made a point of bringing up Allred's voting history.

Beth, I would never tell you how to vote. Just a different way to look at it. If Trump when president has has a republican controlled Congress and Senate I believe He'll do some great things for this country. Of course this only works if the republicans can get along with each other.

Friggin' people (not Beth) are pissed that "Trump's Supreme Court" turned the issue back to the states, while concurrently claiming that Trump will ban it at the Federal level. There's a difference between "politics" and being so morally corrupt.

You can to break away from the noise and then you open the mailbox and it's in your face again.

Today among the bills was a post card from New York (several states away from here). It was cajoling the recipient to register and vote Democrat because "abortion, immigration, student load forgiveness, fascism, most important election in history," and so on.

Addressed to a woman I bought this house from 30 years ago who moved out of state. For all I know she's died in the interim. If not, surely she's already registered there?

I guess they are digging pretty deep in the data mining barrel to find names.

But see... the morons (who will be voting) in Texas still don't grasp that abortion is a state issue. I don't know why so much emphasis is put on the issue by either candidate in this race, except to emphasize the difference in democrat/republican core values. Either of them should have simply said, "not a federal issue" and moved on.
