In this very interesting clip, I think Elon mentions a disturbing (to me) thought that with robots doing all the work, there would need to be some sort of financial support for non robots.

Or they could simply be killed off by manufactured viruses and vaccines.

I suspect the methods will be less sophisticated (or indirect) in the near future. I can easily see the talking heads telling people that too many Desireables are being put a risk from the viruses, when there are better means to target those who have truly outlived their usefulness. The masses will nod their heads in deep agreement.

We might be the last generation of the elderly as the robots take over.

It sounds like they have chosen the method.

Disease X pandemic 'a matter of when not if' as WHO boss issues horror warning to world

The head of the World Health Organization (WHO) has issued a dire warning about the likelihood of Disease X breaking out, telling a global summit it is "a matter of when, not if" a fresh pandemic will strike.

Speaking at the World Government Summit in Dubai, WHO Director-General Tedros Ghebreyesus gave a similar warning to one he issued in 2018 that a pandemic was likely, and was proven right after the coronavirus outbreak spread worldwide, killing millions of people.

Anyone who doesn't believe this is planned is ignorant.

I think I've read all of Asimov's fiction in high school but have not re-read any of it. I enjoyed it, though.

I read a lot of Asimov's fiction, including his juveniles published as Paul French. I also read some of his non-fiction books on mathematic and scientific topics.

I read a lot of the Isaac Asimov books when I was in high school, and probably some after that because I liked science fiction. I read some of the HP Lovecraft books, but didn’t like them very well.
There was one that I do not remember anymore who wrote it, but it was a 1950’s classic (maybe before that ?), called Slan, and it was a really good book, too.

Time, and Space and Other Things?

What I wanted to emphasis is the 1st Law of Robotics voiced in I, Robot that I think was carried into The Foundation Trilogy. It was the only thing that saved humans. Without it, we perish as a species.

    Maybe this one? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Slan
That Wikipedia article contains some interesting trivia about fandom toward its end.

Hackers take control of robot vacuums in multiple cities, yell racial slurs

Robot vacuums in multiple US cities were hacked in the space of a few days, with the attacker physically controlling them and yelling obscenities through their onboard speakers.

Minnesota lawyer Daniel Swenson was watching TV when his robot started to malfunction. "It sounded like a broken-up radio signal or something," he told the ABC. "You could hear snippets of maybe a voice." Through the Ecovacs app, he saw that a stranger was accessing its live camera feed and remote control feature.

In one instance the vacuum chased the family dog around the house screaming at it. The article notes that the hackers could just as easily have kept quiet and spied on families via the on-board camera.

I don't know why this makes me laugh.
