I am still getting used to the my iphone, so didn't think the new update 10 would be a big deal. Due out sometime in September. Looking it over, lots of things my iphone 5 won't have a need for. Then I read an article that said part of update would let you delete some of the pre-installed apps that you don't use. Good news for me. I don't use quite a few apps like: 'FaceTime', 'Stocks', 'Tips', 'Watch app', 'Find my friends', etc. A total of 23 apps can be deleted. Finally, something I can use...
A new update, I finally just got around to doing the last update....I always hit "remind me later". Finally did it this week and at first I thought that someone I was calling had trouble with their phone because it didn't ring. Then my Ex called and he said nobody answered but I did, so he texted me and that's when I realized my phone wasn't working after the upgrade. He told me to reboot, I did and everything was fine, lol. Guess I'll do the 10 upgrade after I read what bugs there are... I don't use the stocks or watch app but do use facetime but only with grandsons. I also don't use podcasts, what are they?
The rest of my screens on my iphone. My ipad has at least 6-7! Edit: I counted and it's 12 screens filled with apps or save to homescreen on my ipad. I need to delete some.
Said to work for iPhone 5 and up and iPads also. Hope they are correct. Would love to free up some space.
I was getting a lot of apps on my iPad, too, @Chrissy Page , and what i did was organize them into folders. For instance, music. I now have a folder that says music, and inside of that is Pandora, Spotify, Amazon Music, and iTunes. I did the same thing with almost everything else except the important things that need to be separate. So, all of my forums are in a folder that says Forums, all reference is in its own folder, and so on. It is easy to do, you just drag one icon onto another one, and they will merge, and a name comes out for the folder. If you don't like the name, then you just change it to what you want it to say. After I organized, I now only have 2 pages on my ipad again.
I have the most important things on the first page, and then the things I use less on the second page, and more of those are grouped into folders. Here is what mine looks like after compartmentalizing everything.
Started the download of iOS 10. So far, so good. Had to update iTunes to do it. It's pretty early, so throw a pod in the machine for coffee and step out with the dog.
Well, that went easy enough. I read that it is best to do the update from iTunes instead of over the air. At least for me, did not eat up too much space. For general info, the update I did was on an iPhone 5, newer phones should be easier. I will play with the phone later. Just glad it went smooth.
@Chrissy Page you are probably right to wait. From what I read, most of those problems came from updating with the phone over the air and not from iTunes. I like to live dangerously sometimes, and I was up and bored. So far, everything is working ok on the phone, some things take a bit to get use to.
