This guy agrees with you, Like here in Florida they redirect the natural flow, and it causes trouble.
As for using saltwater to put out fires, I done some online research and found out that the Fire Department doesn't like using saltwater due to the high content of salt that would ruin their equipment. When I was in the Navy onboard ships, while at sea for training or a cruise to Nam, the ship brought in saltwater and, thru some kind of system, turned that saltwater into freshwater. That freshwater was used for showers, cooking and drinking. Not one taste of salt in it.
There will be those, like after a major hurricane, tornado, earthquake, blizzard, will rebuild and stay. That happens all of the time in areas that encounter weather like that. There are a lot of folks that really dislike any part of California and those that love living there and would never move away.
Cody my sons ship the USS Ponce LPD, did the same, made their water ,he was in the Persian Gulf Iraq War, I told him not to join they would be causing a war and they did. They had mine sweeping dolphins, one took off for a little cruise, but came back. I honor all you who served but not the ones that send you off to war.Thank you again. he made Sailor of the Quarter, then Sailor of the Year had his picture over the Captains quarters near gang plank. My kids had a rough life so I made them tough. We survived and it made me strong. his ship
I wish more of them loved it and would stop escaping the mess they caused and ,moving here to Florida. We went from no traffic to speak of to, high traffic of people in a big hurry that hate vans and speed limits.
Thing is, many cities across America are seeing an influx of folks moving to them for various reasons. When we lived in Colorado, long-time residents there blamed California transplants on traffic congestion and other things, just like they do here in Henderson/Vegas area. People in our age bracket don't live a "fast-paced" lifestyle like we may have at one time. Many young folks, even here, don't pay attention to street signs they see and don't care about speed limits at all. IOW, they don't care about traffic laws at all and there isn't enough law enforcement to handle them.
It's a wild world all the way around, just ask Cat who it drove so nuts he forgot his name thinks its 'Usuf' now. I would like to say our youth in the fast lane but then I remember when we were young and all the Hot Rods we loved so much.
I could see water pressure dropping from all those hydrants open at once. If you flush your toilet and someone else is running a faucet, the flow at the faucet is reduced. Probably just basic hydraulics. And I imagine that hydrants closer to the water source got the water first and robbed downstream hydrants.
The stories about the water seem to be changing. I suspect orders have gone out from somewhere not to complain about the water pressure and availability. When I retired last night, the death toll was up to ten, and i haven't checked this morning to see if it has risen. Some have said that they will find they won't be able to rebuild due to under-insurance and the change in codes. many of the old houses would not be allowed to be rebuilt today due to the changes in building codes. Jillian Michaels said in an interview last night that when her house burned down in a previous fire it took over a year before she could even drain the pool. The city or state wouldn't allow her to drain her pool, and that debris and animals that had sought shelter from the heat in the pool had to be left there to rot and decay for a year. I think she said it took two years to get a permit to rebuild. This will probably be much worse, as the scale is greater and the inspectors will have a long list of things to do.
