Trailers and towed vehicles.....sign reads; trailer's and towed vehicle's..........literally, trailer "is", and vehicle "is", bastardization of proper English grammar.
Or it could also mean "it belongs to the trailer/ belongs to the towed vehicle." When people don't know the proper use of an apostrophe, I wonder how they moved past the second or third grades.
This one just came up again: addressing individuals, especially in a business setting, as "Hey (and their name)." Personally, I don't think HEY is an acceptable alternative to 'hello' or 'good morning,' but it's been spreading during the last few years. Anyone else think it's rude, disrespectful, etc.?
Hey, I do! And, I'm guilty of doing it! Usually informally, though, when opening a note to someone close. Still inexcusable, I seek no impunity. Frank
When people say 'Hot Water Heater'. Of course it's gonna make hot water. It's a Water Heater. Unthaw - what are you going to do, refreeze it! When I get upset, my wife says I speak a mixture of 'Southern' and Hawaiian 'Pidgin'. " I'll do it Rat now! What, you like Beef? I'm Pau!
