Most Latin American (South and Central) governments don't offer what they are supposed to because they pocket the money; the corruption in Latin American countries is overwhelming and generalized. You tell me how Argenina's Vice President owns over U$S 10,000.000.000 and 20 years ago she was an extremely poor / unknown woman. Cristina Kirchner is only one example.
You might google 'US meddling in Central America.' Here's a sample: https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2018/dec/19/central-america-migrants-us-foreign-policy
Dear, I am Latin American.......I lived 29 years in Argentina. I will give you two examples of the "US meddling in LA". 1) Thanks to the USA meddling during the 60s, 70s + Argentina didn't become a Communist nation. The "middling of USA" helped the country against the guerrilla.........Yes, the guerrilla (mostly made by upper middle class / rich people) took the lives of many trying to turn the country into the South American Cuba. Another example is Chile...which would have been another Socialist bastion w/o USA help. I could tell you a lot more about the "middling"...good as well as bad.....but it never attempted against the freedom of my countrymen. Yes, I could tell you a lot about your words..........but I would prefer you ask people from South America what really happens. PS: Nobody denies you some USA actions in LA are /were not the best...............but Castro, Chávez and the likes are not the solution
Right. The "Beacon of Democracy"''' has to make sure the right candidates get elected, otherwise the government has to be toppled. We've been "protecting" Central America from COMM U NIZZZMMM for more than aa century, yet they are among the poorest countries in the world. Oh, and by the way how does Venezuela get off thinking that it's oil revenue should be used to help the poor people. What does it think? That it's Norway???
Just out of curiosity, with the exception of when Obama tried to have Netanyahu ousted from office, what democratic government has the U.S. government tried to topple?

Yup, everything you have on the link is pretty cut and dry. I don’t do cut and dry very well. I study ALL the circumstances involved and without ALL the facts, cut and dry isn’t good enough. The articles may well be true but thus far, throwing out a link as some sort of proof of your contention is rather weak. I’ll get back with you sometime after this whole conversation is probably moved to another thread because after all, this conversation isn’t a “meme”.
Perhaps you could provide some of "All the circumstances..." you mention. In the meantime here's a more specific one: https://www.jacobinmag.com/2019/08/us-honduras-coup-manuel-zelaya-exile-excerpt
Since you love to play with links....be a good one and fin Since you like to play with links...and to believe what you read do yourself a favor and keep reading. I lived what I say. Bye.
The minute I hit, “American Imperialism” and Predatory Capitalism together with the name, Hillary Clinton I already knew which end of the candle you are trying to light.
It seems that what I am seeing on this thread is something like: "This is what I believe, so don't bother me with an argument." Perhaps I should put this in the religion thread.
It seems to me that what I am seeing in this thread is I showed you a link and that proves that I am right. Hint you are not
