OK. I looked up Socialism, socialism, and Democratic Socialism today. I am willing to learn. After reading, it seems to me that the main difference is that Socialism wants to discard free enterprise immediately. Democratic Socialism and socialism want to do it a few steps at a time; i.e. more slowly.

Who cares whether it is upper case or lower case being used. Are you a grammar Nazi?

As a matter of fact, I have contacted my representatives and got the most positive responses from Senator John Cornyn. So put that in your pipe and smoke it.

I think you are rude and combative, much like the other liberals who preach the gospel of acceptance and diversity. Only accepting and diverse when it suits your/their agenda.

I have no problem with existing social programs to help the poor and disabled; I'm just tired of welfare moms and non-citizens being on the dole. I don't think anyone "deserves" free college. And I still want to know HOW will we pay for all these freebies?? (Free to everyone except those of us who had to work for all of it.)

This defines progressivism. Once they have our guns, they don't need our consent anymore. That's when things move quickly.

My dislike of Socialism is it's potential interference and disruption of The Free Enterprize System when they see it growing to big & profitable. Socialist see Nationalization as a good thing. I don't.

Then, by extension, there is a difference between Democracy and democracy, Communism and communism, Republic and republic.
Nope, unless the word is the first word in a sentence or included in a name, e.g. Union of Soviet Socialist Republic, there is NO difference.

It’s kind of like hemorrhoids. If it’s capitalized by an individual, it just means he or she might have a worse case than the opposite and needs more preparation H. Either way, it’s still a pain in the tail.

Willie, Ain't got a clue as how to do that! Besides Willie is a member of the most socialist sect around. You think Willie gets to keep all that he earns? He pays state local and federal taxes. He then has mandatory tithing to the ordnung, He pays into community health insurance, community charity for the weak and elderly and into the community "bank" so that newly minted Amish have a system so that they can buy farms and open businesses. This system is known as the Amish Aide Society and membership is not optional.
Beside no one but you is talking about Marxist style Socialism where the state owns the means of production and distribution. That is what really pisses most of us progressive off about you regressives. Intentional stupidity.. You have made it this far in life so I am making the assumption that you have a modicum of intelligence.(I may be wrong). Because of attitudes like yours one of our members Frank, is staring down the barrel of bankruptcy. His sin? Falling victim to kidney failure. But that is ok with you correct? If Frank has to make a choice between dying and paying his bills, you are more than content to see him die.Correct? I mean you have no obligation towards him, right? He must have done something wrong for him to be in this position, right?
You see Al, we are looking at expanding the lower case s socialism that already exists in out country. You know like most of Europe, Canada, Great Britain Australia, Canada, even Martin enjoys socialist health care in Costa Rica.
You know all of this all ready but your obstinance, or pride or just plain willful stupidity will not let you admit it.
There is no slippery slope, there is no camels nose slipping in to the tent, just plain evil obstinance!

Just so you know for the future Al. The Amish use gasoline to run their equipment, electricity from solar to run their electric fences, their telephones, diesel to run the generators, the English for transportation. Lighting, heat and refrigeration, and cooking are provided by propane.
If you and Willie were thrust back to 1830, you would be pretty much on equal footing.

You know those LED headlamps that are sold? These parts they are known as Amish Bridal Lamps.

A sure road to Socialism is for President-Elect Biden to select Bernie Sanders as Secretary of the Treasury.

Not to worry, Hal. That road is a dead end.

Biden has already announced the nomination of Janet Yellen, former Federal Reserve chair, to be the next Treasury Secretary.

The way things have been going, a new government office might spring up for which Bernie might be a good fit. Secretary of the Dept. of Protest.

Maybe you should start paying attention to the people trying to take over your party like AOC before you start calling someone STUPID.
