What does it mean to listen to your body? Listening to your body is to be aware of all the messages it's giving you, emotionally, physically and even spiritually. These messages are important and allow you to access your inner wisdom and give your body and soul what it needs. When you fully listen to your body's reactions to food, you pay attention not only to your five senses—taste, smell, touch, sight, sound—but also to subtler bodily sensations, emotions, and food triggers. By honing this type of awareness, you can discover how different foods impact your body, mind, and day-to-day experiences. Do you have any experiences when you listened to your body and it did talk back to you?? I did...
For me comfort Foods, which are generally Foods that go back to my childhood help me get through Moody periods put me in a better frame of mind. Especially if you are enjoying them with friends or relatives.
Oh Beth, I am sure you will overcome and beat it. You are a strong person. Keep the faith. I have started eating less meats and a lot more salads and lentils. Chickpea salads are good too. I use the ACV on my salads (in moderation) with no dressing. I feel much healthier and have been complaining less. I am also going to start the potato water therapy in the morning. This is obtained from the thinly sliced potato after letting it sit in water in the fridge overnight. Will make these changes in my diet one at a time.
I think just listening is not all we need to do. When I hear my stomach yes hearing my stomach gurgling is a good sign because if you hear nothing it is not working. Going farther when people like salt it usually means they need it.
I eat fruit and at least one large salad every day. If I skip a day I can really tell it, and the next salad I havet tastes extra good. I usually yield to my food cravings...I figure there's a reason I want a specific thing to eat. One weird thing: the only time I crave a Big Mac, I know that a cold's coming on. There must be something about that extra helping of fat & salt that I need at that point in time. I'll want a Big Mac, and sure enough I'll feel just the brush of a low grade fever and the slight chill of the flu, but it's usually gone in no more than a day. It's the only time I ever eat one, and this happens maybe every other year. My body tells me that I really need to exercise (I worked outside for 5 hours today and I'm beat), but knowledge and motivation are entirely different things.
Okay, thought I had deleted that. Was going to asked a medical question but decided I was in the wrong place to practice medicine. In my mind’s eye I could already see Ken reaching for his shotgun and searching for his #4 loads to replace the birdshot.
You keep your eyes open and your powder dry. Some make their own rules and meanings about discretion and sometime they change before water can freeze in the winter time in Alaska.
