Yes, vaccination cards. And, it's being proposed, if not already a rule, that the same card be shown when boarding a plane.

What happened to "my body my choice"? Never mind that only applies when they want to get an abortion.

Sorry, but not in all situations.

Remember, Lon lives in a place where the residents have to do what they are told, as do their visitors.

I know you are kidding about calling your ACLU. But, Lon has to go by their rules/health policies and local Health Dept. rules, since he is a resident there. Only way out of it would be for him to move and that sure isn't going to happen.

That's correct; Lon's facility is private property and they can set their own rules; the ACLU couldn't care less since he probably signed an agreement to move in. He obviously has no problem abiding by the rules they set.

If private property really could set its own rules, then the government would not have the right to either shut places down completely or require that masks be worn in stores.

The mask requirement was rescinded in Texas, but most businesses still require them.

I know, I know, John, Al and others on this forum wouldn't live at a place like this, but Lon likes it. A lot of his meals sure look good and he don't have to prepare them.

I never said I wouldn't live there. Read my comments. I see lots of upsides that would free my time to enjoy retirement. COVID is an unforeseeable, [hopefully] transient thing.

Here is what you said, John, which would seem to me that requiring vaccination cards is very unreasonable. Am I right?

I think it's unnecessarily over-controlling, and is the stuff of lawyers who will always advise against taking anything that might have implied liability attached to it. They are horribly risk-adverse, and we are a high litigious culture.

But I never said I would not live in Lon's place, which was the statement that you made. Go read my other comments in defense of his chosen living situation, and how I could easily embrace it...it will give you a chance to hone those Search skills ;)

So, my question is...........John, just what would you do if you lived there? Follow the rules/virus policies or have to leave?

In case we lose our vaccine card, I suppose that next we'll need a computer chip placed somewhere on our hand that can easily be scanned.
