I am having a bit of a flare with my Rheumatoid Arthritis and looking forward to the soothing comfort of massage. Massage triggers nostalgia for me as I lay on the massage table almost asleep but remembering times and places of past massages like a beach in Thailand or a resort in Fiji.
It does sound like she's feeding her emotions and also maybe food is the only thing in her life others aren't trying to control in her life right now. It could be her daughter and Doctor are trying to get her to sell her home and move permanently into assisted living while she is not ready to make this decision so soon after losing her husband. It sounds like she could use a friend to really be to Lon...just maybe you could be that friend. In the meantime I'm going to pray for her to know and stand firm for what is right for her.
Here it is 9 AM on a Thursday morning and I am the only one here having breakfast. Three years ago it would have been full. I guess many residents choose to pay the additional $ 5.00 to have breakfast delivered to their apartment.
I pay for massage. $ 60.00 for full hour which is reasonable compared to massage away from AL. Hair cuts, manicures are self pay too.
Wine Cheese and vegies are set up near our mail boxes and the musical activities next door. Have a drink and check your mail.
9 AM is morning cocktail hour! 9 AM is brunch in most places. I bet it is packed shortly after it opens. My second breakfast is finished by 6 AM. I might join you for coffee and cherry or chocolate pie at 9 Am, but breakfast is already moving through my system at that late hour.
That is only if you don't want to put in the time to earn the title. You can buy it but it doesn't have the same impact as the earned eccentric. @Lon Tanner I am also curious why the dining room was empty if it is normally busy at 9 AM.
