Lucky for all the ladies dining with him now, cameras are prohibited. @Beth Gallagher "dust ups" must be a Texas phrase. My Tom Green County cowgirl great auntie always said when I visited, "Praise the Lord that we had a great soaking rain because Faye is here and a dust-up has been avoided." Hahaha! :D:D:D I asked my great uncle what a dust up was in reference too and he said, "It is like a bull pawing up dust before he charges and that is why I say to your great aunt, 'don't go getting your hopes up mama, because what could have been a simple Faye dust-up may now become a mudslinging'.

I have a soft spot for Lon because even though he called me strange, he said he loved me.

I am so glad that his daughter reached out to you Yvonne. I have attempted several emails with no luck, and did have the feeling he'd left us. I hope he is at peace. We had a lot in common since we were from the same city and knew many of the same people originally. What a small world it really is.

Oh, tough to hear, and sad, for sure.
I tried to engage Lon in discussions, because it seemed he was always asking religious questions.

My hope was to give answers that aroused interest, but often I was rebuffed. I feel, somehow, I have failed him.

    He will be sorely missed.

Lon was an atheist or so he said. I think he was looking either for a like minded person, or perhaps just couldn't get the response he wanted, Hugh. It wasn't you and you did not fail him. He'd have let you know if you had. Rest easy on that one.

I had no idea he was doing that poorly...too bad; he was a perfect foil for me!
