Fish last night as I don't like serving the same thing 2 nights in a row.. BBQ chicken leftover from the other day tonight.. I will zap it in the microwave to heat it up first..
No... I don't take anything... Actually, I do take a vitamin D daily, but that's all.. I also don't take very many pills daily either.. I take a pill for my prostate, a pill for arthritis, and a vitamin D... That's all I take.... I am tested every 3 months by my family doctor with a blood test and nothing is out of the normal..
Yesterday a friend of ours was cooking a stew for herself and ended up making way too much, so she brought us some stew for supper.. Talk about a fabulous meal of homemade stew and she also made some buns as well.. What a pleasant surprise..
Yesterday we went out food shopping and we ended up at a Tim Horton's for a late afternoon, early supper snack.. They just introduced a flat bread pizza which we decided to try.. Well, needless to say, it was the lousiest pizza I had ever had.. It was really bad.. Practically inedible.. NEVER again will we order that.. We came home and I made us some grilled cheese sandwiches for a snack, supper.... ECH to the pizza at Tim Horton's..
Thursday night we went out for supper at a lovely Inn as it was my Birthday... The problem with going out there is they feed us way too much food.. Naturally I overate, but it was very good.. We brought home a doggy bag of food we left over and it was still enough for the following night's supper.. Totally ridiculous the amount of food they give you..
Steve, I'm not really getting a deep sense of "low-carb" above. But maybe I'm being radical in my metering out of such things as buns or BBQ sauce or even stew gravy, let alone restaurant foods.
Jacob... You are 100% correct in my choice of food.. Please understand that I was on low carb for many many years and I lost quite a bit of weight on it.. Started out at 358 pounds and went down to my present weight of 175.. A few years ago, I had open stomach surgery, twice, which caused me to lose almost 50 pounds while in the hospital for 7 weeks.. Since then, I have been on an almost regular diet but taking into consideration that my stomach is a bit smaller after the operations.. I am still restricted to eating certain foods, but not necessarily on low carb.. Quantity is important when it comes to high carb foods for me.. I try to stick to about 30 to 40 carbs a day even though I eat some.. My burgers are definitely served without buns.. Going out for supper for my birthday doesn't mean I went crazy with carbs.. I still watch myself both out and at home.. I very rarely eat bread of any kind, but sometimes I do.. Never rice.. Never sugar, I use Splenda.. Never corn.. Potatoes I bake the mini ones and I will have one or two of them.. Thank-you for asking and I hope I answered your questions.. Please feel free to continue on posting on here..
Actually Jacob, I am on maintenance which means I have reached my weight goal and I want to maintain the weight without losing any more.. I really wanted to be around the 190 pounds mark but I am 15 pounds under which is OK..
Salmon patties that I made from a can of salmon.. Steamed cauliflower, mashed with sour cream and chives.. Seedless red flame grapes.. Pot of tea..........
Supper tonight I made a meatloaf... Soul food as it is raining all week.. I used minced turkey, added 2 eggs, diced mushrooms, herbs and spices.. It was extremely delicious and moist.. Baked cauliflower, peas.. Pot of tea........
supper was honey/garlic chicken thighs with the sauce.. Mixed vegetables... Baked small potato.. S/F jello with heavy cream.. Pot of tea..
The balance of the meatloaf for supper.. I made a mushroom/onion sauce to go over it.. Pureed carrots with butter and chives.. Sliced tomato.. Sliced banana with heavy cream and some frozen strawberries.. Pot of tea.....
Fish........... fillets of tilapia lightly breaded and pan fried in EVOO.... A fresh green salad with my own dressing.. A sliced banana with heavy cream.. Pot of tea.....
I make a few low carb dishes from the books published by Dr Michael Mosley ,who sadly died a few days ago , while out walking in Greece. the recipes are delicious and nutritious. I took photos of my favourite recipes before leaving on holidays so I’ve got them to make while away What sort of foods do yo eat for lunches and breakfasts @Steve North Just curious cause I try to stick to low carb foods as well , this morning I had a sprinkle of frozen raspberries 1/2 small banana 2 table spoons plain unsweetened / unflavoured yoghurt Lunch is usually an apple but if I’ve been out doing harder work I’ll have a couple of dry biscuits with maybe a little cheese
