I’d be seriously thinking twice about using Splenda Steve ….if Annemarie eats foods with it added .

It’s quoted as MAY ..effect glucose

I used to take 2 teaspoons of sugar in my tea and I cut it out by dropping to one …then none
Now day I only buy sugar when I make jam or preserving

    Splenda side effects
    • May alter glucose and insulin levels.
    • May be a migraine trigger.
    • Significantly decreases beneficial gut flora.
    • Increases diarrhea and bloating.
    • May play a role in certain cancers, according to an animal study in 2016.

I’ve used a part Splenda / part castor sugar for some things long long ago , it was called Smart Sugar ….but when you consider how many calories REAL sugar …..has it’s not worth messing about with substitutes ……..just use real sugar it’s made no difference to my weight by using real sugar.

Kate... The problem is, Annmarie is diabetic and can't take sugar at all..
That is the only reason we use a sugar substitute.. Not for the calories at all..

We have been using Splenda for something like 25 years and we don't have any issues..
We don't use very much of it.. A 450g bag lasts us about 4 months..
Also sugar is loaded with carbs that we try to stay away from... Splenda has NO carbs..

I don't know that we have Smart Sugar here..

Kate..... So far, so good.. I try to take good care of her.. I would like to have her around for many more years to come.. We also use Splenda brown sugar for our oatmeal (porridge) for breakfast..

Yesterday we went to Sudbury and I went to Walmart where I bought a BBQ chicken..
Now, that dead bird will feed us for about 3 days as we don't eat that much..
I also bought a Caesar salad kit which we devoured as we like salads..
Who can have dessert after a large meal like that..
A pot of tea was really needed and appreciated .....
