I agree that anything homemade is not only better for you but also tastier.. You can't compare freshly made to the commercial way of cooking..
I made a meatloaf using minced turkey.. There is lots leftover for another meal for us and then some for a sandwich.. Steamed and mashed butternut squash with butter and just a pinch of nutmeg.. Baked mini potatoes.. No dessert as we were too full.. Pot of tea...........
The balance of the meatloaf but this time I made a sauce to go over it using onions and mushrooms in a gravy.... Steamed broccoli, baked mini potato.. Frozen blueberries and strawberries in plain yogurt.. Pot of tea........

Yesterday we went food shopping and we ended up going out for supper.. I had a veal and vegetable dish which was way too much to eat.. Too much food.. Who can eat dessert after all that food.. Boy, was a pot of tea ever needed........... I didn't walk out of the restaurant, I wobbled...

Someone brought us over a Sheppard's Pie that they made for our supper.. Needless to say, it was simply delicious.. I really appreciated not cooking for tonight.. Sliced banana and sliced frozen strawberries in heavy cream... Pot of tea....
Salmon patties that I made from a can of salmon.. I made my own sauce to go with it.. Steamed broccoli,.. baked mini potatoes.. fruit.. Pot of tea...
Someone brought us over a lasagna they made.. We don't generally go for that kind of a meal, but we had it, so why not have it.. I must admit it was really good.. Naturally any homemade meal is always better than frozen ones at the supermarket.. Country cooking is what it is.. Loads of meat and filling and not that much pasta.. I posted on our local site that I was getting a bit fed-up with cooking, so lately some local folks are bringing us some homemade meals that they made.. I feel awkward about it, but the thought is certainly there..
