Kate..... First of all, you are not overweight at all.. Your problem is, you are too short.. If you were 5ft 11, you would be just perfect......... LOL You mentioned some bread.. I don't eat flour at all or anything that contains or made with any kind of flour.. There are good and bad carbs and bread (flour) is a bad carb.. I don't count or keep tract of the daily carbs, but while on induction [which is what I am on] I try to stay at 20 carbs daily.. Those carbs come mainly from veggies.. Induction is rather a strict way of losing the weight but it works extremely well when followed properly.. Once the goal weight is reached, slowly, more carbs are introduced.. Again, good carbs like fruit.. After all is said and done, the 5 main foods that are prohibited always remain till maintenance.. Once there, naturally the carbs are increased to maintain your weight.. I have been on low carb since the early 1980's and I can tell you that...... it works if you work it.... I lost about 145 pounds... I'm sorry, but I had to smile when you said it is winter.. Our winter up here consists of temperatures at the -35c range, violent winds [as we are just on top of Lake Huron], along with a total accumulation of at least 12 feet of snow during the winter.. I am absolutely pleased you are doing something.. Keep it up, and in the long run, it pays off...... Weight loss, healthier, more energy, feeling better, and more self confidence...
One more very important thing I totally forgot to mention... DRINK LOTS AND LOTS AND LOTS OF WATER DAILY...... I mean lots !!! personally, I drink about 80 to 100 ozs of plain water daily.. That doesn't count in the coffee or other liquids I drink... Just water... I like ice water, so I take a water jug and add a block of ice and I have ice water almost all day...
Supper tonight was a BBQ.. My frozen pre-made chicken burgers on the grill frozen.. I added each a banger to go with it.. coleslaw.. S/F lime jello. Breakfast was 3 scrambled eggs with sliced mushrooms for me and a 3 egg omelette with turkey bacon for my wife..
The reason I was asking Steve I’ve gained a couple of Kg despite being fairly active with dancing and walking amd I just can’t move the coupe of kgs ..no matter what I do
Kate.. You must be consuming the carbs if that is your problem.. Why don't you try to do an induction for 2 weeks and see what happens.. It isn't hard at all.. I am doing it now and so far, I lost about 7 pounds in about 3 weeks.. Google Dr. Atkins and .... induction ... to see what I am talking about.. 20 carbs a day (and good carbs) gives you lots of food to eat.. Go to the recipe section on here and check out Linda's recipe and see the hundreds of options there are... Look for induction friendly..
Supper was B/S chicken thighs dry marinated and on the BBQ.. Also some sausages as well as there wasn't enough with just the thighs.. Steamed broccoli S/F jello with heavy cream.. Breakfast was the usual of 3 eggs each.. Mine with sliced mushrooms and cheese..
its been rather hot here the past week or so.. That means I don't enjoy using the oven or even the stove to cook, so I have been using the BBQ every night for supper.. Chicken in various ways, my homemade burgers with bangers, or fish is what I have been cooking... Yes we have an air conditioner in the living room window, but I still don't like cooking supper in the heat.... Besides, BBQ is much easier, faster, and fun to do.. Not any clean-up like pots and pans...
Although it is very hot outside, we do have air-conditioning in our house.. Today I am making a slow cooker.. Chicken thighs bone in, in a BBQ sauce, with sliced onions.. The slow cooker won't give off much heat and it will be a lovely supper... I have been using the BBQ every night the past few days because of the extreme heat...
Supper tonight was a stir fry in the wok.. B/S chicken breast, onions, garlic, mushrooms, broccoli, and red pepper.... Vegetable stock and soy sauce for the liquid..
Tonight supper was salmon fillets pan fried in butter and EVOO.. Dry marinated first a salad with my dressing.. S/F jello with heavy cream...
Shish-Kabobs on the BBQ.. I used Chicken breast cubed, marinated, and on a skewer and on the grill.. My skewers are metal and reusable.. We had 3 each and they were simply delicious... A salad with some radishes from our garden.. the first of the crop we can use... S/F butterscotch pudding with some cinnamon ...
Chicken B/S breast cut in half thickness and dry marinated for about 3 hours and then on the BBQ grill to cook on both sides.. Then open up the inside for a quick cook.. A salad with some veggies from our garden..
I made a HUGE mistake... they had at the local supermarket some frozen salmon burgers on special.. I tried them and found out they can't go on the BBQ... They were awful to eat... good thing I made some bangers to go with them otherwise we would have nothing to eat... Oh well, .... I guess we all have had our experiences trying to take the easy way out...
We usually get the salmon burger patties from Sams Club, and they are delicious. We don’t cook them on the barbecue, so I don’t know if they would work that way or not.
I bought some ready-made salmon patties/burgers recently at the grocery store. They were pretty disgusting, but I really don't like salmon so I'm not the best judge. (Well, I do like canned salmon made into breaded patties like my mother used to make, but fresh salmon is nasty.)
